Original with sport design steering wheel(with shifts paddles) and equipped Sport Chrono Package, upgrade to multifunction steering wheel no ‘Multifunction enable code’ needed, just need coding change steering wheel type to multifunction to enable ‘MF key function’ setting menu in instrument cluster display.
If original without Sport Chrono package, need buy ‘Multifunction enable code’ and coding.https://gpsadapter.us/blogs/installa...n-coding-guide

My Adapter-X arrived today. Shipping was quick. Airbag will be here tomorrow, and then waiting on Suncoast to deliver the wheel... they said it could be 2-3 weeks as they have to order it from Germany. Downside to having a beige interior, I guess.

First impression of the adapter is great. The adapter boxes themselves are much smaller than they look in pictures, build quality looks good. Positive feeling so far.

Can the 991.2 GT Sport steering wheel be installed without the mode dial? I am not sure if I would like the dial on the wheel. Not sure if it needs to be installed or if it's optional.

So is there a version of the wheel without the dial or do I need to purchase it with the dial and remove it? I only see the wheel with dial option on Suncoast.

The folks at Suncoast can get them with or without the dial. The dial is only standard on 991.2's with Sport Chrono, remember, so there's definitely a part number for the wheel with no dial.

There is a version without. Any ... any new style wheel will fit off the Porsche line-up. Macan, cayman , boxster, 911, cayenne , and panamera... all models.

Wheel arrived today. The adapter install is straightforward. I’m very happy with the transformation. Awesome upgrade.

Night and day better way to get real paddle shifters vs the IMO plasticky TechArt retrofit jobbies. The install is easier as well.

i may wanna do the same and replace black sport design wheel with heated multi function Alcantara wheel with Sport Chrono dial

Yes, it has heating. I installed it. The installation is pretty easy IMO. The directions aren’t the best, but it’s all pretty obvious how it goes together when it’s in front of you.

Yes, the mode dial works as advertised. I mode activates PSE. It also has memory function, so it restores the last mode you were in when you restart the car.

For anyone that has done the upgrade from 991.1 multifunction NO HEATING to 991.2 multifunction NO HEATING, what did you do with the heating plug in the steering wheel? I was told that ALL 991.2 multifunction wheels come with heating (according to Suncoast). My car did NOT come originally equipped with heated steering wheel so what do I do with the plug on in the steering wheel? Do I just push it off to the side, out of the way? Or do I plug it in to the plug in the clock spring (I know it wont work but that seems like the best way to keep it from moving around)? Please advise I realized that the instructions show the heated connector that I am referring to but not what to do with it if you don't have heating (image included with heating connector circled)...thank you! - Dom

Follow up - my new steering wheel happens to be a "GT style". If someone HAS seen a 991.2 MULTIFUNCTION without this connector, please include a part #. Thank you!
