Great thread. I am not interested in getting MF to work on a 991.2 steering wheel.

I simply want a non MF 991.2 steering wheel to work in place of my sport design non MF 991.1 steering wheel. From what I gather, I just need a non MF 991.2 steering wheel and a 991.2 airbag and everything is plug and play, no programming, no new ring.... bolts right in and works?

Does anyone have the part number for the GT Alcantara version. No MF, No heating? Suncoast parts guy was clueless and quoted over $1400 for the wheel.

I finally pulled off my new 991.2 steering wheel to install the multifunction buttons, GPS adapter and new heater switch. There were a lot of wires and screws! But in the end, it wasn't that bad and the heating function now works! Now I just need to get the MF buttons to work (I think I need to get the dealer to enable it through a code?).

Would a 991.1 PDK non-sport non-multi function steering wheel with heat conversion to a 991.2 / Macan paddle with heat be a plug and play or does that require a module and or programming?

Car build date Dec. 19 2011 if that helps.

Thanks, Cman21

I suggest install a 991.1 MF steering wheel to test if MF can direct works.
Had 6 cases upgrade from normal steering wheel to 991.2 MF,2012-2013 model years 991.1.
4 cases without SC replaced clock spring to '958.652.568.04' the MF works,'multifunction enable code' needed also. Those cases original clock spring parts number#7PP.953.568.AR
1 cases with SC,input 'MF code' and coding, works, clock spring parts number#7PP.953.568.AR
1 cases with SC,didn't replaced clock spring, direct works.(I don't know the parts number of clock spring)

Anyone interested in ridding themselves of their disused 991.1 PDK sport design multi- or non multi-function wheel in black or grey leather, or possibly Alcantara following their Yuan Li upgrade?
