Love the extended height lid for the storage compartment. But I don’t love it at $550.00. Anyone have a decent price for this mod ? Suncoast is bending us over again, and I refuse to be Marsellus Wallace for this item
Getting gt3 rs tails and painted guards red trim for my 2013 basalt black 991.1s aerokit. Already has the satin carerra s wheels, black headlights, and guards red seatbelts, so the trim and tails should match.
installed the oem gt4 short shifter a coulple weeks ago, phenomenal mod. Huge improvement over stock, height and feel is perfect.
thinking about catted headers and an iPd plenum for some sound and maybe a little power....

I actually bought the OEM tinted taillights on the Panamera. Just killer. I figured I could do the little slits on the 991, since I have been tinting lights with film sheets for a while..
Here are some impressions with the kit:
1) if you just start with a sheet of film, as I have done on some lighting in previous cars, all you care about is starting from the center, working the film, and the trimming around the edges. When you start with a pre-cut shape, it's not like that. You position it within the available space and then work from there. IMO, this is a recipe for less than optimal results as far as residual bubbles, etc.
2) You really sort of look for the best conditions for applying it. All the YouTube videos dealing with any complex tint job always have a mysterious third hand with a heat gun helping. It doesn't work that way in real life.I thought my extra warm conditions today (90+ degrees) might be good as long as I did it in the shade so temps were steady, would take care of that. It almost did, but I think it made my adhesive a bit more sticky and harder to squeegee the bubbles. I had too many for my taste. But they say to just let it "cure" and most will disappear. After 5 hours, I definitely could tell a difference. The supplier says give it three weeks and if there are still bubbles that are problematic, use a needle and vent it, and the film will ultimately seal itself there.
If this all works out to a near-perfect result, I will report in. If not, same thing.
I got my 911 a 6 year Fidelity Platinum warranty, for under $4K. Seemed more than reasonable to me as the car is too good to consider having any reason to want to sell (such as lack of coverage, although that still wouldn't have gotten me to sell). I also recently got the PDK replaced (under CPO), so a large swath of my drivetrain is brand spanking new.
Also had to pay for the $$$$ 40K (although the car only has 20K) service (filters, oil, plugs), so the car has been quite pampered lately. I figure the car is thankfully already plenty modded and maintenance is where further "investments" will go.
