Haha crazy, thanks. Be almost cheaper just to buy an F1 trans one and rip the top out of it.

Doesn't work for me. Buy a spray can of oem paint from dealer and spray paint the cover, wet sand then polish. For such a small area, probably won't be able to tell the difference.

+1 ... or just put a tow hook in (not a 991 but you get the idea)

Thanks for the idea. May check dealer. I know that can't use the tiny touch up paint bottle.

Wouldn't that make any banging noise when driving around?

New stable mate.

Traded the wife's Macan Turbo in for a new '17 Panamera.

You have 75k miles on your car? How is it holding up? I have 40,000. Use it as my daily driver and put on almost 20,000 miles my first year of ownership.

No - not at all. I have one front and rear. They are very secure and it takes a fair amount of force to "un-fold" them from the "folded" position.

I would not have it on the car if it banged around. That would mean it is scratching the paint!

We originally placed a small rubber piece between the bottom of the tow ring, and the bumper - but found it's not necessary as it doesn't move (ever).

The tow hooks are model specific. These are Rennline but several companies make them. They come with red stickers but I like that it blends in a bit more without the stickers. It would be very subtle on a silver car.

You could use the tow hook from your car's emergency kit - but they are ugly (IMO), and stick straight out from the hole. Functional - but don't exactly "blend in" and don't look nearly as "finished".

Yep it's totally solid. I've replaced some minor things: battery, window switches, cov, fans. but really the only significant thing I had go wrong was a bad throttle valve early on. There hasn't been a single thing I couldn't fix myself in the past couple years.

Thanks man! They really seem to complement each other well. I was apprehensive about the gated at first but it's actually quite intuitive.

Yes. Only the 2-3 shift (on many cars) is tricky, but the key is to push it forward and let the springs guide it to the 3rd gear slot, rather than try to muscle it there. You'll love it. If you haven't already got it, I highly recommend upgrading the shifter bushing with the Hill Engineering part.

You must have been very excited to see all those boxes awaiting you. What other mods do you have planned for the future?
