Thanks, I like the way they turned out.
I should have added to my response earlier that the person I bought them from had bought them from suncoast.

Earlier this week there was a nice set of GT3 wheels, platinum finish, on eBa with a buy it now price of $4K, not sure what they ended up going for.
After the thread on mounting the GT wheels on a 991.1 GTS I was tempted to pull the trigger but didn’t and of course now second guessing myself......

I think the main difference between this 997 version and the newer nuts is a small groove on the face. You've got me interested again! Wonder if the red color is less affected by age/cleaning?
One reason I did the change is three of my four nuts had turned a light gray with whiteish deposits in the teeth and somehow the right rear was unaffected, so I assumed it was due to the way they had been cleaned in the past (car was a CPO).
Per some of the posts here I tried both vasoline and olive oil to darken them up which helped a little but not that much.
They work fine with the wheels, but the old nuts had a small slot in them that matched a small tab on the Porsche crest cover piece, so the tab had to be removed. It was pretty simple, they just used a wire cutter.
Not sure about the aging but I plan on being real careful on what I use to clean the wheels.
You can see small spots (you really have to look to see them) where the centerlock nut ratchet left permanent marks on the nuts, they did warn me about that before they put them on.

I needed to have my oil changed and wanted to try out an Indy who is close by and has had some good things said about him here. I had just received the nuts and planned on doing them as part of a ceramic coating of the body and wheels, (I have yet to invest in the wheel removal tools). When I mentioned them to the Indy guy, he said bring them by and I can take care of it. I brought him a iced down 12 pack and it took about 15 minutes - big thanks to Kevin at KMW Motorsports in Boca Raton.

Hey G8tor
My name is Tommie I am up in Jacksonville., most everyone on here has had issue with discoloration on the black locking nuts. There was a bunch of talk on here believe it or not someone suggested Olive oil I tried it it worked great. I do not use any soap or chems on my wheels locks. I clean my wheels with Sonax. and wheel woollies. I know I saw those GT3 wheels on ebay also. but for not much more I can get them from Suncoast. Most of the GT3 guys say that the wheels chip easy I have thought about have them powder coated before mounting. Have you installed your front grille covers. I just did mine got Zunsport ones the were easy to install and look good.

Hey Tommy,
I did the Rennline grilles, I had decided to do lighted CF sills and the aerocup rear wing, so I had everything done at the same time.
My Avatar pic is old!

Love the wheels. Car looks great, especially lowered. How do you like the ride? Had Techart springs on my 997.2.

The ride is very good I can't tell any difference from the stock springs vs the Techart springs.
