Reducing 1 lb of rotational weight equates to shedding roughly 3.5 lbs of non-rotational weight. So say your aftermarket wheels save you 30 lbs in total over your OEM wheels (basically the difference between HRE R101 Lightweights at the OEM GT3 wheels) and it would be as if you took out 105 lbs from the car. Reducing that weight improves both acceleration and deceleration.

Why don’t you put the 991.2 steering wheel on ? It’s OEM and looks great. Common mod, and you can keep the multifunction. Cheaper than $ 3500.00.

The 991.2 sucks though. Why would you want to ruin a perfectly good .1 with an Audi steering wheel?

Cannot tell if joking ? If not; we can agree that preferences differ. I can’t stand the 991.1 MF wheel with PDK buttons. I think it’s hideous, and the PDK buttons are an ergonomic nightmare. So, I’d go with the 991.2 MF wheel, and try and black out the blingy shiny bits.

The flat bottom wheel doesn’t look right to me.

New Porsche owner as of Thanksgiving last year - 2nd post ;-)

Full PPF wrap (Xpel) - this is a DD for me
Ceramic Pro ceramic coat
Rennline phone mount with magnetic holder

Tomorrow (Monday really)
LED clear side markers
Magnetic stone guards
Ultimate cup holder

Once I find an indy mechanic I can trust:
200 cel cats (probably soul but still looking)
Headers (seems Vektor has best performance)
Rennline Grill Screen
License plate magnet solution I saw on this thread - great idea so I can take plate off after clearing ticket

I posted in my first thread (regional) - if anyone can recommend a good mechanic in San Diego, would really appreciate it

I'll add a different perspective. I, too, hated my MF wheel at first but once I got to use it for few weeks I realized it's far superior, IMHO, to the more common paddle shifters:
1. It provides more grip, at least for my hands, since I get to use either the thumb or index finger, with paddles I'm down to holding the steering wheel with just the thumb/index fingers while shifting and it doesn't inspire as much confidence.
2. The interchangeable nature of the buttons makes it a no brainer to shift up or down without having to remember left vs right. Push, up; pull back (or downshift). In this sense the, otherwise inverted, IMO, gear shifter also starts to make sense. Push UP, pull back (or down).
3. Looks are subjective and I'd probably give the paddles a slight advantage, over the buttons.
But grip and versatility/logical operation trump all other considerations.

Push forward pull back, buttons or gear selector but as always, to each their own.

I love my .1 MF steering wheel!

When I first got my 991.1 with the MF steering wheel, all I could think of was changing out for the .2 MF steering wheel. Mainly because there were so many threads about changing it. I came from a BMW M4 with an amazing steering wheel, IMHO it's even better than the .2 steering wheel. So I have high expectations.

I went to the dealer, played with the new steering wheel. I even got a Macan loaner or almost two weeks and got to try the .2 MF steering wheel. In the ended I decided to keep my .1 MF wheel. While the .2 MF is an improvement, it's not a significant improvement to justify spending money to change it. I can tell you now that I love the .1 MF steering wheel. I use the PDF shifter to change gears since I like it much better than paddles or push buttons. The functionality of the MF is an absolute must I can't imagine driving around with the old Sport Design steering wheel. So yeah if you're new to the Porsche 991 I suggest you give the MF a try, you might come to love it like me. And stop reading those steering wheel threads.

My car came with the non-MF water buffalo wheel and I couldn’t stand it. Got SD wheel with paddles, water buffalo wheel went in garbage can, never looked back.

Swapped my silver "Carrera S" badge for a black 911 badge, then plasti-dipped the Porsche lettering to match. Looks much better to my eye.
