Just traded in a 2015 Macan Turbo for a 991.2 GTS. http://www.porsche-code.com/PHK2N4B1 Dealer doesn't even have an allocation yet. It could be a April build with a June delivery or a June build with a August delivery. Either way, the wait will be painful. In the meantime, I will pass the time watching Porsche You Tube videos and reading this forum.

I'm wondering at what point you hold off a month and then order a 2018? It seems to me with next model year 911's they seem to start showing up on dealer lots in late August or September.

Default Just ordered my first Porsche.

Targa 4S in Night Blue/Black
Turbo Wheels
PDK
Premium Package Plus w/14-way seats
Sports Package
LCA
Brushed Alum. interior (matches Targa bar)
Bose

Agonized between Night Blue and GT Silver. Family voted for former.

As Tom Petty said so well, the waiting is the hardest part...

Dealer told me that most cars built after June, become the next model year (2018), so we'll see. I don't expect any big changes for 2018, since they just updated them for 2017, but it would be nice to get the next MY if I have to wait that long.

I doubt there would be much in the way of change either, but 3 years down the road a car delivered in July as a 2017 has got to be taking a bit of depreciation hit compared to the same car delivered in August/September as a 2018.

It's time for one more Euro Delivery before I kick the bucket. After four with Porsche and BMW, I'm coping with the ED hassles PAG throws at you. Ive decided to take my 14 year old grand nephew along for an adventure. I placed my order in October, requested a June 2017 delivery and got a confirmed date yesterday. I opted for the base 911, not the S. $14K is a lot of money for 50hp and 20" wheels. Here's the rundown:

2017 911 Carrera

Exterior Color 0Q White
Interior Color AJ Standard Interior with Leather Sport - Seats Plus (4-way/18-way) in Black
P07 Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way) with Memory Package
Packages P3F Premium Package i.c.w. Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way)
• Porsche Dynamic Light System
• Auto-Dimming Mirrors
• Seat Heating (Front)
Exterior CWJ "PORSCHE" Logo and Model Designation Painted Exclusive Chosen color: Black
625 Porsche Entry Drive
651 Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof
529 SportDesign Exterior Mirrors
Performance 487 Manual Transmission
658 Power Steering Plus
QR5 Sport Chrono Package
176 Sport Exhaust System
Wheels 433 20" Carrera S Wheels $1,580
Wheel Accessories XDG Wheels Painted in Black (High-Gloss)
Interior 457 Lane Change Assist (LCA)
630 Light Design Package
858 GT Sport Steering Wheel
541 Seat Ventilation (Front)
583 Smoking Package
581 Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell
XSX Seat Belts in Guards Red Exclusive
Interior Aluminum X70 Door-Sill Guards in Stainless Steel
Audio and Communications 9VL BOSE® Surround Sound System
Delivery Experience S9Y European Delivery (Leipzig)

This should be interesting.

Just got an email from my SA. Car is completed and arrived at Emden yesterday!!! Expected departure is 2/3 with arrival in Davisville 2/24. Arrival date at dealership is anticipated on 3/3. If I were a betting man I'd say it'll be here a little sooner then that. I know from this thread that there will be other rennlisters on this boat. I will try to get the boat information once at sea. Any information obtained from others would be much appreciated.

Didn't you already order a C4S? Or was that just a wish list? Where in SE are you?

Default Locked in and Deposit Down

Just left the dealer this morning after giving my deposit and added the leather steering column in leather like a few of you suggested and also added the back center tunnel in leather with the red deviated stitching to match the rest. I decided not to do the red deviated stitching on the steering column as the red really jumps out when looking thru the wheel and at the gauges. I think I would be distracted by it. I asked about the German First Aid kit and apparently it is a $20 option that puts a first aid kit inside a compartment in the Frunk. I left it there to see what it is all about.
April 21st delivery!

The final build is:
991420 - 911 Carrera 4S Coupe – GT Silver Metallic

I don't speak from much experience, this is my first Porsche but I absolutely LOVE everything about my base model. I have no desire whatsoever to go "bigger".
