Thanks guys. I'm really happy with how it came out. To me it's really stunning in person. Started the process in August and it was well worth the wait!
The thing that continues to surprise me about this thread is how many ways there are to configure a great looking 911 - most of which would never occur to me.

Question for you fine folks. I'm working with a dealer to lock in a PTS slot for a 911 Turbo s. I was told this morning that the earliest slot he could get is slated for May and that the time from building to delivery would be around 120 days, so around 4 months. The 2018 models are supposed to be rolling out in the fall and that build time takes me right up to the fall. Would you guys suggest that I just hold off till the new model year, or go ahead and pull the trigger? Any insight would be most appreciated.
The only alternative "best" time to do it is probably the next model release. And if you want to stick with a TTS you're probably looking at a 4-5 year wait for that.

I've always heard PTS takes a great long time unless you just get lucky as the factory doesn't have a long window to do it and you have to work around that. I'd be much more concerned with model age (997.2/991.1/991.2) than model year. Putting those together I'd say go for it.

Maintenance plan - I would consider it as it's predictable thing
Tire/wheel - I would skip
I remember reading a story long time ago where this guy would always opt-out of every protection and warranty offer, but ask how much they cost and put that amount into a separate bank account. He did this for every product he bought whenever he was offered a plan. Over time, he amassed a huge amount of cash that he only used for repairing anything that actually broke. Basically, he was his own insurance company. It paid off for him big time.
PS: My production schedule is only a week behind yours!

I've opted out of everything for decades but my Volvo XC70 OEM extended Warranties. Right now I'm $2KUSD in the hole.
I took no wheel insurance on my two Porsches, not a single problem so far.
I pay maintenance as I go because tha cars are tracked.-Richard

Picked up this beauty yesterday!
I went mad with the configuration and I'm so pleased I did! My new car has everything I want and will be my daily for many years. Love Graphite Blue too - changes colour all the time depending on the light. I know the steering wheel is on the wrong side for most of you guys, but it does the trick here in the UK...

I might be a wee-bit slow with my understanding of RHD. But does that mean the passenger gets to do all the driving?

Beautiful car! Great color combo. Love the rims and yellow calipers.
