Did it actually sell or did bidding end? It is not clear to me if the reserve was met and the car was “sold.” I’m not convinced it sold.
Yes... a $100 bid bump at the end to $59,498 pushed it over the lowered reserve.
But remember that even of the cars that actually 'sell' on eBay, a huge number of them never actually transact. Unlike other places like 'bringatrailer', eBay collects no deposit and enforces no transactions, and if you read the fine print on eBay for the auto sales section, it basically allows either side to back out.
It was a nice looking car though especially with the added aerokit. High miles but single owner, full service docs and clean carfax.
Just for future reference:
2013 C2S

Mileage is clearly amongst the highest determining factors with these cars. Which as time goes on and the cars get older, I expect it won’t make AS drastic a difference. That’s still a great deal on that car for what you get. The sellers first mistake was using eBay. Not a good way to get top dollar as it by its very nature is a rushed sale (which isn’t favorable to a seller).
I also think you have to de-rate the value of a vehicle you are essentially committing to without a personal inspection or PPI a fair bit for the unknowns...
My logic is sort of like this:
Local Porsche Dealer, see it and drive it, with CPO = top dollar
Local car, personal inspection, full PPI: -
Out of town car, without personal inspection, but still PPI = - -
Out of town car, auction, no personal inspection, no PPI = - - - -
Off Lease Only is notorious for selling problem cars and accident histories. This example is no exception. Pass. A wreck Feb 2015 and a wreck June 2015.
