Absolutely! OffLeaseOnly has had several well priced 991's over the years, but their online reviews are abysmal and further research usually reveals some good reasons for the low prices... Keep looking and posting though!

Yeah for sure! It is a learning process here that benefits smart shoppers.
We need active guys searching here. Some of old HFS graduates are MIA, so we need a new freshman class.
Any updates from lurkers? Who is looking? Have you seen any cars in person worth mentioning? Any closed deals? I know you guys are out there. Come out of the shadows!

I'm looking, have been for 6 months here in the SF bay area. Problem here has been that it was a super hot market this past summer. Cars were selling within a few days at most, if priced correctly. I tried to make a few deals, that fell through. It's slowed down a lot the past two weeks. I tried real hard to make a deal with Carmax on the 2013 Lime Gold S they had. That poor car had been up and down Calif numerous times, it finally disappeared about a month ago when it was shipped out again to southern Calif.

Lookie Lurker here, too! I've been looking for last few months as-well. Much more motivated recently since i'm ending a recent lease. However, my problem is i'm looking for a unicorn since i'm only looking for a manual. It's lead me to look everywhere from 997's, 991's, and heall even 991.2's..
STG you are the Man!
BTW, any HFS grads that could write-up an out of area guide to buy used cars would be super helpful!

Serial lurker here - love this thread.
A couple of lessons I've learned:
1. Don't hold out for the perfect spec - it will never appear.
2. Don't let a $1-3K price problem keep you from buying a car - you may kick yourself later.
3. Don't forget rules 1 and 2.
Thanks much to STG for the continued commitment to HFS. Your voice and those of others with more experience in 991.1 cars is invaluable.

Holt Motorsports has been mentioned a few times here already, but I keep visiting their site since they seem to sell pretty clean, low-mileage examples. The prices may be a little on the higher side, but they seem to acquire nice builds. They have two 991.1s for sale currently and a few clean 997s, too. They're not too far away from POTML, either.

Ok, also a long term lurker, but now part of the "closed deal club". I've stayed very quite about my purchase over the last few weeks waiting to post anything about the purchase until the car finally made its way cross country. So, the car arrived by Intercity transport yesterday morning after a two week journey from the east coast to the west. This car caught my eye in the HFS listings back in September which lead me to the classified post listed in the HFS post by STG. So, I'll soon post an introduction to myself and the car but I thought I'd finally come from the shadows and fess up to my purchase.

I believe as the 991.1 is getting older, maybe what is considered HFS is changing. For me, during the beginning of the year, an HFS was a 991.1S, under 15,000 miles, discounted from $125,000+ msrp to something around $75,000+, and preferably with CPO. At that time most of them were 2012.5 launch year models. While I tried to post some of them during the year, it seems not to attract any interest from the lurkers. It seems the majority of lurkers were more interested in the GTS models running close to $100K. Reaching $100K in a used car, even a GTS, is not something I would consider a great deal but that is my own opinion.
Hopefully, as Winter approaches, there may be a rash of great deals, specially from dealers in the New England (hint, hint). Maybe I'll start checking again...

Congrats on a beautiful 991! I've been "off the grid" most of the summer since getting my HFS C2S in March. Per STG's "instructions" I am posting here for the first time in months, and what better occasion that to congratulate you on your new ride. Tell us more; options, mileage, "steps" to the sale, etc. And ENJOY!
