You are right, I think. It is just a contract to help you sell your car. So, kind of like a consignment dealer. There was a similar company called Beepi but Beepi would buy your car after a certain period of time. Looks like Beepi is out of business
Wow, I wasn't aware that Beepi folded. They did a heavy radio advertising blitz and had really high customer service. In the end, they burned through $150M of venture capital and shut down! Here's an interesting synopsis of the rise and fall - good idea, bad execution:
I like the build, white over black, LED lights, some aluminum interior bits, etc.
It looks like the 2015 'P3N Sport Package' option includes Sport Chrono and Sport Exhaust? Does it bundle in anything else?
Have you run a Carfax on it yet?
Agree. Pretty damn good price even for the mileage for a 2015 and the build. They seem to charge $1300 of prep fees on top. Carfax looks clean. 3 short owners though. Second owner put 13k miles in 8 mos or so.

Strange that Shift supposedly doesn't take ownership, yet it shows up on Carfax as "dealer inventory." Maybe that's simply a function of pulling it off the Shift website?

Well that's what you don't want to see on carfax if you are looking to pass through CPO...
Did you see this on a particular car or multiple shift cars?

On their website, they have a link to the Carfax for each car listed. On 7 out of 8 Porsches listed on their SF site, I found the following on Carfax:
"Dealer Inventory - vehicle offered for sale"
followed by another entry usually within a day or two, or just a few miles later
"Shift Services - xxx maintenance performed"
I'm guessing the one that didn't show was due to it just not being processed on Carfax yet.
Does not bode well for transfer of CPO, but hopefully @kingerm can report back on how the title transfers if he buys the white 2015 911S listed here.
Seems odd that it would show dealer inventory (as if title transferred) when Shift takes possession of the car, since the owner has the opportunity to take the car back at the end of the 60 day period if it doesn't sell.
My understanding is that Porsche dealers, if they check at all, use carfax to see if a car with CPO was sold through a non-Porsche dealer and voided. So it sounds like a no-go for CPO pass through, or at least as no-go as any other non-Porsche dealer.
Has been very well taken care of. Looks very clean and been used as a "fun car" only on nice dry days. Has a BEL STiR Plus radar detector system and 4 new tires 4K miles ago. No accidents or paintwork. Comes with red tail lights and an extra set of clear ones.
Just doing him a favor by listing for the guys here. Contact Duke directly for info!
I have no interest or incentive on this car or deal. Just doing a favor and common courtesy for the HFS crew.
Posting for a Rennlister who bought it two years ago pre-owned HERE!!! Has been very well taken care of. Looks very clean and been used as a "fun car" only on nice dry days.
I have it and like it but seriously.....NO ONE except me is ever going to see it. It's not like I am going to Katie's Cars & Coffee and popping open my fuel cap cover for everyone to see!
I wouldn't spec it and I wouldn't order it after the fact, either. It's not even real aluminum! It's colored plastic!
Not shy at all, but I just don't have the "skillz" the expert (STG) has!!
Thanks for the compliment!
It was more the confusion that there was no link in STG's original post so it was just a few pics of a gorgeous car at first with no context LOL! GLWS - beautiful car!
