HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
Race Car
Weird isn't it ? I know it's plastic. I know it serves no real purpose, beyond the one that's already attached. It's overpriced, and the name is laughable - Sport Gas Cap. "Sport" .... Seriously ?
Yet I want one. I'm glad the price is still dumb enough to stop me. For now.

The one on my 993 is metal with a nice red plastic cover on top and has a very solid feel.
Even the one on my BMW is plastic but has a much more solid feel.
On the 991 I am afraid it will break at any moment whenever I close it after a fill up.
Not sure if the penny pinchers at Porsche did this, or the engineers to get another 1/8 of an inch of miles to the gallon out of it.
I didn't know until just now that the sports gas cap is plastic, too. I thought it was aluminum. How does it feel? Does it feel any more substantial?

Suncoast gets $11.5K for front PCCB rotors (pair), $10.2K for rear pair. Pads are semi-reasonable at about $380/pr, front or rear.
$23K+ for a full set of rotors and pads, at a Suncoast discount. Local dealers are likely significantly more... Plus labor, which is probably more hours than steel rotors...
There are quite a few threads about how to tell if your PCCB rotors need replacement without a definitive answer. Last time I looked at a PCCB car, the local dealer wanted $350 just to inspect the rotors independent of the PPI!
