When $700,000 is the entry price to live in an area that you feel safe walking around outside at night, something is seriously wrong. Don't even get me started on fire fighters and teachers, Do we expect him to live in vans because they can't afford to live there?

I'm a 4th generation Californian.
Grew up in the San Francisco East Bay and graduated from Cal.

Don't get me started on the salary and bennies for first responders.
Trust me. They are NOT living in vans.

We have 4 retired fire captains in the San Ramon Valley Fire District that are making $250,000 a year in their retirement.
It's totally INSANE!!!

Sorry, thanks for the correction...I must have been half asleep in this crazy heat! I have edited...still believe it is a very nice car, but not HFS pricing.

Best equipped I have ever seen including Burmester, heated steering wheel. $45000 off!

With the silver-rimmed black wheels it even makes the shiny window trim looking... well, reasonable. If I was looking for a PDK coupe there is a high chance I'd get this one.

This one pending too. What were they asking, over MSRP? What it's selling for though

Here is a hypothetical question that I would like opinions on. If a Porsche dealer has a late low-mileage 991.1 CPO car that is nice, he gets a premium for it. But is the same car, if owned by an individual but can be sold with the same CPO warranty and the same options, worth as much as the dealer offered car? Let's also assume they are both low mileage, obviously no accident history, and not flogged to death and both pass an independent PPI. Does the dealer's CPO car command a higher price that the privately selling owner's car? Just curious...

Dealers ALWAYS able to get more than FSBO 98% of the time for many obvious reasons. CPO, financing, trade in benefits, wider marketing reach, LESS DRAMA than dealing with private sellers, LESS buying transaction risk, and buyers feel better buying from a Porsche dealer. I'm sure I can think of more.

FSBO pricing is never FULL RETAIL.

FSBO v. Dealer has one exception and that is where the owner is very well known in the community and can back up stuff like maintenance and OCD level stuff that some people like. For example, if it was someone I knew and they said never driven in rain, always garages, oil changes every 3k miles etc. I would pay dealer pricing for that vehicle as opposed to one where I did not know the owner but was on a dealer lot CPO as a lease turn in or whatever. FSBO cars are also more likely to be unique as opposed to the usual white/black/silver usual options that are most common (especially around my area).

Yup. That's the 2% I was talking about.

I just bought my car, while it wasn't on this thread, it might serve as a marker for the current market.

2014 Carrera S Coupe
WP0AB2A99ES120625
14,5xx miles.
CPO car, sold by Porsche Beachwood
Originally priced at $91k (!)
Sold at $84k including delivery from Beachwood, Ohio to Houston, Texas.

Car was supposedly entered into numerous concours events. From the condition, I believe it; it's definitely the nicest car I've ever owned and shows incredibly well.

Came with service records since in service from pervious owner (he offered them to the next owner per the dealer).

Optioned exactly the way I wanted it; no SPASM (Houston roads suck) but with PSE, etc.
