HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
Hi guys. Been a lurker for over a year and have gotten some very valuable information. About to pull the trigger on a 2013 991S Cab. Have obtained a PPI, bit it appears pretty basic. What does a PPI usually include? Also is there anyone in Memphis, TN that can do a Renncheck?
This was what was sent to me for my PPI. Car is at a Benz dealer with a sister Porsche dealer. GM offered to have one of their Porsche Tecnician do the PPI free of charge, so I said yes. But now thinking about having another PPI done at an independent shop. What do you guys think?

BTW, forgot to thank STG and all the other members for their wealth of knowledge. Reading this help me know what my must haves ( manual, SC, PSE and full leather) options are.

That was what I though too. But this is my first time buying a car out of state and requiring a PPI. What does it usually include?
By the way this the the car that i am looking at. Have a deposit down on it already. Took the forum's advice and jumped on it immediately on the first day it was posted on autotrader.
Got it for $81k. Has 10k miles. Has original warranty until July 2017.
Think I did well.

$60K off with 10K miles is GREAT. 98% chance you'll be ok with any history and cosmetics.
How is the CarFax? Have a link?
Have any close ups of wheels and rotors?
Maybe a local HFS follower can take an in person look at it? I thought we had a Memphis guy here?

Also, OP mentioned they have a sister Porsche dealer. Get them to CPO it??
Yeah. Looks like a clean carfax. Good suggestion STG, I am gonna ask to see if they can CPO it, the only thing is the sister Porsche dealership is in another city. Didn't think about it being necessary if the PPI was good, but definately worth it later down the line.

Wow. What a nice car. The CF really sets it off.
Even though the CarFax states no accidents, be wary of owners who have repaired cars without going through insurance. Bring a magnet with you when you check out the vehicle. The front quarter panels and the hood are aluminum. If they're original, then a magnetic won't be attracted to it. Just don't let the salesman see you. Ha, ha. Check panel gaps. Especially at the front of the car. If the panel gap around the hood is misaligned it could mean there was front end damage. I found a car during my search several months ago that had repairs to the front end but the CarFax was clean.
Good luck.

This car is a winner. Just get a PPI to make sure no surprises. An awesome build, LOW miles, and big discount. HFS material 110%. The cars we've been saying aren't around as much lately.
Interior looks great with the carbon trim. SC and PSE with manual too.

Just have the dealer send you photos of the paint meter readings and photos of the bolts to see if they've been turned.
