When we ordered a 2015 Cayman S for my wife, we priced it out at $71k MSRP, paid $66k (before tax, of course). Biggest ticket item was the leather interior at $2,520. In hindsight we should have sprung for the Comfort package for the better seats and the automatic climate control.

So, if I'm doing the basic math correctly: he owned it for a year, put 7,500 miles on it, and should come out $5K to $10K ahead for his trouble (excluding any maintenance, of course).

Needless to say, I found a KILLER deal last JUNE. Asking and selling $$$ aren't always the same, but this car was a great buy and will be an inexpensive year of driving.

The HFS formula is a good one. Imagine him buying a new car last year. He'd be $25K ++ in the hole.
