Since we're on the subject, what will be the ultimate fate of this car (and others like it)?

It's a "new" 2014, that has nearly 3,000 miles on the clock.

Are cars like these destined for auction, to be eventually sold at Crazy Jim's Exotic Imports?

Don't want to turn this into a turbo thread, but here's another "new" 2014 Turbo S with only 157 miles on it at a very reputable Porsche dealership in Dallas. If I was in the market for a turbo, this would be hard to beat. CPO too.

exactly...."crying" to collect 10%....yep, 10% is the average dealer profit per unit ($13,000 on a $130,000 car!!!!) but at the end of the day it's a lot to collect! and guess what, they're collecting the same on used cars so there's no magic in that, the cars simply cost less. they will lose money on cars to save a buck somewhere else, it's a zero sum game.

nice purchase!!

Who goes in and pays MSRP on any car? (That's unless it's a GT car or one of the hard to get special editions)

Average new car discounts are 5-7% at dealers who like to sell cars and not hold their markets captive. So, they're just at 3-5% profit per car. I'd say pretty fair. On top of it, the sales guys need to make a living too and all the expenses/overhead of running a business.

Dealers rely on parts and service to make it as well.

Owning any business isn't by any means like hitting the lottery. Investing millions and hoping for a return isn't unreasonable.

We're not here to beat up on dealers. We just like to find good fair deals.

Not sure why you're lurking around here anyway after all the drama you've caused and all mockery of this thread you've done. All the better to stay clear of each other at this point like we've been doing until today for some reason.

Damn, just discovered this thread and I can tell it's going to cost me (save me?) a ton of money...

Previously been looking at 997.2's, but some nice 991.1 deals out there!

Thoughts on this one? High miles, but seems like a decent price. I really like the idea of any Carmax location shipping it to my local carmax for a reasonable fee rather than chasing cars all over the country. Tired of cars being described in superior condition and not nearly meeting expectations when I see them in person.

2013 C2S, 49K miles, $121,825 original, $67K carmax.

Interesting build, white over grey, pdk, sunroof delete, pdcc, sport exhaust, sport chrono, pdls, etc.

Unfortunately only the typically super-crappy carmax pictures.

...and for those who would like to help me on my search, looking for a 991.1 S, would really prefer manual to pdk, under $75K, sub 60K miles but perfectly maintained and minty. Don't really care much about comfort or cosmetic options, but sport options definitely appreciated.

Welcome!

No need to get a car with 50K miles. Be patient and you should find something with 25K or less. You can do better than the one you posted most likely. I'll see what's out there.

See below!!

Great price point! Sub $60K C2S. Lowest $ I've seen for such a car. The only one near that price available for sale with similar options nationwide.

All dealer maintained one owner with 34K miles. New listing. Won't last.

Manual and sport chrono! Bose, 14 ways and more!!

Clean CarFax. Will be gone in a matter of 1-2 days.

2013 with only 12K miles. CPO warranty at a Porsche dealer! Have it listed at $79,995 on another search website.

This is where you go very wrong, but for some reason, you can't control yourself. Anyone is free to post a comment or opinion, especially on the topics at hand (as I did) but you quickly take offense and start on the personal affront.

The only person that causes drama is you. Leave that and the rest out of it and things will be fine.

Wow that is crazy! Seems like a car that pretty much sat for 3 years might have some issues, but I guess CPO...

Cars are fine sitting. As long as the battery is maintained. Get an oil change and the service that's recommended with time interval, you're fine. Rather have a car that sat than one with 5K miles. It's a new car!

Reason why this one hasn't sold is no sunroof I'm sure. The average Turbo buyer probably wants one.

Anyway, getting off topic here. Plenty of other variants to discuss for the main buying audience here.
