I just put in the name of that speechwriter people are having a fit about. 2007 VW EOS. Now on a salvage site.

(not political, I don't have a horse in the race, just enjoying the show )

My best foot forward to getting this thread back on track... $72K off a 2013 C2S X51

CPO, 13K miles, MSRP $172K, 2 owners. CAXFAX seems clean.

Oh yeah. Loaded to the max. Still, asking $100K. No CPO?

Oh, it has power steering plus!

Goes to show these loaded up ones take a beating. I really think it will need to be like $93-$95K to sell.

Black is such a tough color for me. Would be nice to see it in person.

Its is CPO according to PCNA. BTW, nothing comes up on your VIN search engine for owner names...

Put a VIN in and get owners name. Might be good if looking at a one owner car and want to contact the previous owner?? Might be intrusive a bit though.

I'm the second owner of my car, but my name doesn't come up. The original owners name does.

Try it out guys and let me know what your searches reveal.

Holy shi* ..... Did the name search with my name, and two previous car purchases show up with my home address and mobile phone #!! Cars that were brand new and I was the first owner.

Scary. So anyone can grab a VIN off a car outside somewhere and potentially get the owners personal info??

Yeah, these days nothing is safe. The reason why I'm not on Facebutt, Twitter, or whatever. I don't need to broadcast my life to everyone with Internet access. What next, live cams to people's living rooms??

Rennlist is my outlet of choice. Just because of the car hobby. I've even questioned this many times and wondered if it's a waste of time.

I tried it with VINs from each of the last five cars I've owned and came up with nothing each time, thank goodness.

Yeah Josh, that's right. You got your nice C2S there! Tell Justin to take some iPhone pics for the HFS crew! Might get a sale out of it.

Anyone would be pissed if they bought a car that wasn't as advertised. The dealer didn't want to fix those items for me when I asked them to bring it up to date, they didn't even know about the brake issues (needed all 4 brakes and rotors replaced) and the fact it wasn't up to date on maintenance (the 4-year service specifically). I would have bought it if they had either done the work, or credited me to have the work done locally, but by the time I looked into everything, it was penciling out at $65k for a car that had a full front-end respray already, quite a lot of miles, quite a lot of track time. We ended up getting a showroom condition 2013 C2S Aerokit cup w/11k miles ($129k build) for $78k; seems like the extra $13k was well spent in the end.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Great thread!

Any thoughts on this Carrera 4 GTS? It's a bit higher in mileage than others, and silver isn't my top choice for color, but it seems to be a pretty decent deal.

Thanks in advance!

That seems like a really good deal! GTS models are usually running $110+ plus. A bit high miles, but it's also a 4 GTS, I think most C4S in that model year would be running $100k.

How did they get to $148k on that build w/o Aerokit, Burmester, or Ceramics?

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure where the $148K figure comes from. I see that it has LED headlights, but you're right - no aero, Burmeister or CCBs.

Byers seems like a good place. I ended up buying up north, but they were pretty up front to deal with when I was getting prices on an order a couple years ago.
There are some very wealthy people in the Columbus area and Byers seems to get a lot of highly optioned cars through their place.
It's almost walking distance from Columbus airport (CMH), so you could fly in. go for a jog, pick up the car and drive it home
