Don't want to turn this into a turbo thread, but here's another "new" 2014 Turbo S with only 157 miles on it at a very reputable Porsche dealership in Dallas. If I was in the market for a turbo, this would be hard to beat. CPO too.
Damn, just discovered this thread and I can tell it's going to cost me (save me?) a ton of money...
Previously been looking at 997.2's, but some nice 991.1 deals out there!
Thoughts on this one? High miles, but seems like a decent price. I really like the idea of any Carmax location shipping it to my local carmax for a reasonable fee rather than chasing cars all over the country. Tired of cars being described in superior condition and not nearly meeting expectations when I see them in person.
George - I've bought cars in 5 countries over 35 odd years, including here in the US (three in the last 18 months, all new, no Porsche yet but that will change). I generally pay cash for cars.
My question is, in all markets I have bought cars in there seem to be two factors driving "the deal" on new cars that have been sitting around. First, the build date because cars age and depreciate from that date irrespective of whether they are sold or sitting on dealers lots. Second, the incentives dealers get at the back end of the deal. Not the difference between what in the US is called the "invoice" and MSRP, but what the manufacturer pays the dealer on sales volume and the like. I hear talk of "boot money" - is that the same thing?
Net effect is I always aim for 10% on a new car and generally get that or very close. Last 911 was 25% on a car that had been on the lot for 9 months.
Interested in your thoughts. Love the thread by the way, very helpful.
I think I found a candidate worthy of this thread. No affiliation at all with car or seller, just passing it along. I've noticed he has dropped the price twice so he may be ready to deal, but $66K for a 991.1S with some nice options already feels like a great deal to me. If it were Guards Red, it would be mine.
SPASM gives a car the perfect stance in my opinion. All Carrera S's come with PASM. Going for the SPASM option (lower springs and different sway bars) drops it another 10mm.
On a "base" car w/o PASM, you get that stance with TechArt springs? Or something else (in lieu of full coilovers, of course....)
If this would have been black or white I would have bought it today. ....and or PDK.
Carfax said it was sold by this dealer last fall....may not be correct. Or they confused the 991 with a 2012 997 and priced it accordingly, which in effect they are idiots. That has happened. I got a great deal on a BMW because it was debadged and they listed the mileage in KM, and priced it as a 335i, not 335is. Saved me about $4k.
Congrats to our buddy 77tony (991.1 GTS owner who found his car here) managed to earn a stickie featuring "for sale" 928's on that board!! Took him 5 years to make it happen!
Beautiful NEW 2015 Anthracite over Black 991 C2S cab. Punched like 4 months ago. Need to confirm. Delivery mileage on it. Something like 15 miles.
Nicely optioned!! Naturally aspirated sweetness to your ears with that SC and PSE!
The deal === available around 15% off MSRP. That's $20K OFF You can work out the exact negotiated deal. They're motivated to move it. Dealers need to make room for 2017's.
I saw the car in person, and is quite stunning. Works great with the Platinum Satin wheels! Anthracite Brown is pretty attractive really.
Very responsive and great Brand Ambassador. Obviously mention you saw it here to not start from scratch with the negotiation. He has some great deals on 991.1's, 2016 Macans and Cayennes too! Check out his inventory.
