Fast forward 3 weeks, still not sold. There is a similar deal in Jacksonville and a few on autotrader that are as good IMO (conditions assumed to be equal).

I may take a ride down and look at this although I am scared off by the miles having, or just about to at least, taken a beating on my CPO Cayenne Turbo with 65,000 miles. Also really looking for Agate but feel I need to see the white in person before I dismiss it out of hand.
I don't think this is a "screaming" deal. I have seen several 20k mile C2Ss go for mid 60's recently. There is a private party CPO'd Agate C2S performance build for sale here at $67k and I think it has 30,000 miles. Might as well see if he will take $65k; you would be better off, considering that car is mint and has CPO, and is a better deal. I always figure 10k miles knocks $3,000-3500 off the price, so this would have to be at $56k to be comparable. Even at $67k, the Agate car is a better deal.

I agree on all points. I usually go with 30 cents a mile and $3500 per model year when comparing one car to another. The Agate C2S listed on RL has sold but was a solid deal IMO.

Nice car. He got a killer deal on it and found it at Carmax of all places like a year ago. Deals are out there if you're patient and good at searching.

Carmax can be the place for a "deal" if one is patient! Randomly cool cars pop up from time to time! Obviously, they don't know our cars and don't correctly calculate the value of the car based on its options. It is the same reason that I typically shop for cars at non-Porsche franchise dealers (Ford, Chevy) or places like Carmax. In speaking with people, often Carmax will pay the most for a car, whether or not it is being traded in toward another. Porsche dealers in particular need high margins to keep those fancy showrooms afloat.

Plus, the Carmax extended warranty can't be beat for the price!

I think for low mileage cars, CarMax can be ok. We've seen with higher mileage 991's, they always seem to be beat up.

The warranty is great from what I've heard, and they do seem to be very competitive for what they pay for cars. Porsche dealers can be bottom feeders definitely.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this but can anyone recommend a good place for PPI near Ft Lauderdale? I'd be a first time Porsche owner. One place I called said over -revs can be cleared from memory and may not show up on the scan they do. Didn't sound right but don't know

I would use a Porsche dealer. Never heard over revs being able to be wiped clean. I think only dealers can run an over rev report (I think?)

Over revs can be measured by any shop with the correct equipment - don't know about wiping the codes though.

Whatever you decide to do, just be sure to not take the car to the same shop/dealer where the current owner has it serviced/bought it. You want an objective opinion - not a rubberbstamped inspection from someone who wants the seller to come back with/for their next vehicle.

Only dealer typically has equipment for DME report or is it they are likely to carry out a better PPI? Thanks

As another user mentioned, the right independent shop can run an overrev report. I can run mine with a Durametric Enthusiast tool. As far as thoroughness of a PPI, that depends on the quality of the independent, but I am sure there are plenty that are better than what a dealer would do.

Wow!

Nice car, but that is basically GTS money. I would gladly pay an extra $10k for a GTS, although with that build, it might be more like $15k extra. Still worth it for a 1-year newer car!
