Still can't get over them shutting down the build sheets and hiding the VIN#'s. VIN's can still be found on dealer sites and places like cars.com

Build sheets are only shown on the Porsche site though. Only for cars for sale at Porsche dealers though on the National Pre-Owned Site which sucks as well.

What a joke and a lot of hassle looking for cars.

Little do they realize this is making life harder for their buyers and not good for marketing their cars. Speaking for myself, it's very un-motivating and requires a lot more work digging into listings.

Deal directly with enthusiasts and private sellers. Bypass the dealer mark ups and games. Just another search option.

Yeah I was googling it last night, seems to be an interesting color. I am not a fan of black cars--mainly because they only look good if the paint is flawless and then only immediately after a wash. The Basalt black seems to be interesting enough to be different. I had a Carbon Black E46 M3 which I thought was an interesting color. This seems to have some similiar properties.

Basalt Black is a metallic with a purplish tint in the sunlight. Looks different in various lighting. A nice color if well maintained.

I like the idea. Seems to be a work in progress though. Lots of cars listed that aren't actually available. I clicked on four cars and not one of them was still for sale.

Thanks. I mentioned it on his post in the 991 GT3/RS forum. Any interested should follow there.

Thoughts? Anyone know this car?

Edit: Just looked at the Carfax, five owners and lease/rental history. I think I'll pass.
So this car came in and I have an appointment to see it Friday. If nothing else, I will test drive and take pictures. Since they are no longer showing the price since I reserved it but I believe it is $63k.

This one has an accident on the Carfax so it is not worth it for me.

I would say any posting older than a month has a good chance of being gone (maybe sooner for really good deals or in demand cars). There is an option to report a listing as sold (crowdsourced in a way) but right now our software cant automatically update for that.

that said, we thought it would be beneficial for people to have access to historical listings, to help with price comps, etc

Good luck! I'm sure will do well and you'll constantly find ways to improve it.

If a seller can make a bit more than a trade in, and a buyer can pay a bit less than full dealer mark up, it's a win/win. Like splitting the difference between two parties rather than throwing in a dealer for their three way cut.

The dealer model obviously has some benefits, but with some of these more enthusiast buyers and sellers they both know what they're looking for. More knowledgeable many times too.

Been there done that. Not willing to deal with low ballers and tire kickers. For me, it is not worth the hassle.

On the reverse, some private owners think I am stealing their child. Check the inflated prices in the PCA mag

Only problem is it doesn't work in states with tax consequences on private sales or if you want it certified.

All true ... Just one avenue to search. We know the FSBO gig is hard from the buying and selling sides. Some guys do find success. Just one option.
