It's an auto with a torque converter and a manual shift override.
The technology differences between old-style autos (Lexus), dual-clutch street autos (PDK), and racing dual-clutch manuals are significant. It's not "potato-potahto" at all.
So an auto is just an auto, some just use different parts to shift. A torque converter, magic box, dual clutch. . . whatever you want to call it, they are all still just an auto that you can control gear selection. I get it now
The people criticizing "auto" aren't interested in technology. Its a faith-based initiative.
Confirmed. I want the driving enjoyment, the technology behind it isnt the issue.

Exactly. I dont care if it has 1 clutch, 2 clutches, or a torque converter. Its still an automatic when you dont need to manually row gears.

There is a tremendous difference between a PDK and an automatic.
There is also a tremendous difference between PDK and a racing transmission.
Last I checked, a clutch looks nothing like a pedal.
An eminently logical point. However, see my post above, where it says they really aren't interested in technology? Then a couple posts later its "confirmed?" Well, guess what? They really aren't interested in technology!

I know Chuck. I just think this thread is hilarious. I love manuals. Three of my cars are manuals and I'll always own one. I also really like PDK, and can't wait for my GT3 to get here next year.
I'm just amazed at the conviction some folks have on this subject.
