Yeah, the "manual" light press never worked well for me. I am either heavy handed, doing it wrong, or something is wrong with my window controls.

Popping these posts back to the top. Someone on here has to know how to do this. I've seen numerous posts from people saying they've done it. Will someone PLEASE spill the beans. It's like it some secret club and we just don't know the super-secret handshake...

I'd like to know as well. After upgrading to the 991.2MF wheel I loaded the 'sequential cobb" pdk map that should activate the dual paddle nuetral but it didn't work. I contacted Cobb and they said it would require that the wheel be changed to non mf using PIWIS or similar. I can make that change using thinkdiag but if I select non MF wheel the controls on teh wheel will no longer work. The car needs to think it has a SC wheel while still allowing MF controls to work.

I've done a bunch of coding including the temp diplay while cobb ecm/pdk tune were installed with no issues.

@Rumble-Bee
@joserpaq
Thank you very much.
Now I have to go back in this thread too find the step by steps to figure out how to do it.
i’m very illiterate when it comes to computers and never have coded anything.

Just don't be tempted to go changing something because you "think" the name of it might mean something. There are sometimes settings that seem to conflict. There's a 718 coding PDF where most of the coding combinations are explained. Start there and work your way toward more complicated options.

Also, the flash programming like this requires added wattage to do the writing. DO NOT do this with just your battery, or a simple trickle charger. If the system loses power in the middle of a flash you may end up bricking the module(s). An external power supply capable of 10A minimum seems to be the recommended option. Some folks have gotten away with less (or no charger) but given the towing/repair costs it's not really worth the gamble.

Though i agree with the caution, but these ThinkDiag writes takes like 1/2 sec MAX...... it's not like you are flashing the entire ECU with a COBB AP . So as long don't be a dumb a s s going through the menu and then try to write after an hour, they should be fine.

As the saying goes "There's a right way, a wrong way and the way some randoms on the Internet say they get away with."

Proceed with caution. Do not sit there in the car poking around in the menus for an extended time without something augmenting the battery.

The first time you use it, you can easily spend 30 minutes or more fiddling with the Thinkdiag. Gets easier the more you use it, but if you are not savvy, time moves quickly as you try to navigate the menu or use search to find things. Best attach juice to the battery to be on the safe side. It will not hurt.
