FWIW, I bought a 2015 991.1 GTS manual back in 2017 for two reasons: 1) last year NA car, 2) I like manual cars. It took me over a year to find the car. During the course of the year search, I think I only found 3 or 4 cars that fit the bill: 991.1, GTS, Manual. I'm sure the 991.2 is better, but I definitely like the 2015 just fine. I can't comment with regards to whether or not it's similar to a GT car, except that it's not in any way similar to a 911R, which I have as well.
Sounds like a great car but I'm not sure 2015 was the last year for NA engine, at least in the US. I have a 2016 C2S that is NA. Perhaps you meant last model but I'd be speculating.
It's just supply and demand. Not a lot of reasons to sell a 991.1 as it still looks great, that engine will probably last forever, and it's perfect for enjoying on the street or back roads. All the new turbos are faster of course.
I can't imagine selling mine for any price because then I'd have to replace it, which I can't. I hear they might make rear seats an option in the 992 GT3...ok maybe if I could get an allocation that's about the only reason I'd sell. I love my spec and it's just not something you can find anymore. No one is selling.
I had someone stop me in a parking lot yesterday as I was getting out of my Carrera T and ask if it was for sale. Said he'd been looking for 6 months for one and hadn't found a fairly priced example. I told him I'd owned 911s for 20 years and asked what he was looking to pay. When he replied around $75K, I told him that is probably the issue - the cars haven't depreciated that much (yet?). The 991 (IMHO) is the best design since the 993, and I think the market is reflecting that. The 992 is also a good design, and I think will age well - but the new prices are beyond the reach of many.
What shocks me is the prices of 964s ... I remember not too long ago one could buy them at $20K - $25K all day long. Even once maligned cabs and targas are edging up now.
I picked up 2019 T in August and spent more than what I wanted but the condition of the car, warranty and the spec is what made it worth it to me.
If you’re already spending $75-100k, i rather overpay a bit more to get a car im happy with.
Waiting for pricing to fall and then getting the exact car you want is hard to do. For people who are not picky, this can work.
I totally agree. I am reading about a lot of cars that got away. Looking for a very specific spec and mileage range can be hard to find as-is. I paid a little more than some other ‘deals’, but nailed the spec and mileage. Brief negotiation, then I locked in ASAP. I didn’t want it to get away. Chances are that someone somewhere has similar intentions, and specific specs can be very rare.
Adding inflation to the equation changes everything.
I feel the inflation so hard during conversion to Euros.
Paid rent from a US bank account this month and I lost over 100 dollars in difference from this month versus last due to the conversion. Whatever is happening to our economy, it's hurting the dollar.

I was following the used market years ago (maybe started around 2011) and I found it frustrating that exact specs were disturbingly hard to find. They existed, but the ideal configured cars just never came up for sale. If they did they were "overpriced"--but were they? Eventually I gave in and just configured a car to my own ideal spec. I don't care what it's worth, it won't be on the market either way.
I’ve been set on getting a cab but there aren’t as many for sale and the old thought that they sell for less than the coupe just isn’t true anymore as I can find a lot more coupes in my price range and well equipped.
Doubt I would be as happy with a sunroof and windows down as being in a cab but giving it thought now.
I realize I'm playing in the big leagues on a budget, but it's the best I can do! For the first time in my life I'm in a financial and life position to get into a 911. Trying to find that perfect combination. May be looking a while, though.

I all seriousness, i've has i dunno, 10 or so 911s from long hoods to the 991 and probably 20 different porsches... , only gen i haven't owned is 996 or 992, but i've driven them.
Outside my hot rods/GT cars, I like the base cars a lot. Simple, pure. Don't get hung up on options, really, if you're going to drive the car, as intended, most are not needed. Especially for road use. Your budget is plenty for something great to enjoy, and don't under estimate how good the 981 cayman are. By far my favorite car post-997 generation is the 981 spyder. Magical car.

100% agree! I'm only looking for a base Carrera or base S in manual. Doesn't need any of the niceties. I actually prefer no PASM and as few active/electronic systems as possible because I plan on servicing the car on my own. The few complicated systems, the easier it is for me.
Just want to carve up these awesome European roads with a 911 and row my own gears.

At the risk of exposing how I overpaid, I just got a 17’ C2GTS cab PDK with 9.6k on the clock for 107K that started with an ask of 112.9K. My initial offer was 105 and car was at a Benz dealer.

Sounds like you want a Cab. Don’t give in. Perhaps other specs are flexible, but hold firm on your primary specs. eg I almost bought a non-MT, and it was a primary spec. Glad I waited for what I really wanted. You won’t regret it.
