Default No thats an opinion

I for one don't like the power delivery of a turbo on a sports car, so your statement for me and others is incorrect.

ARound a track with novice a.1 and .2 will be the same speed. A true statement would be the .2 is faster in a drag race or around a track with a professional driver. Also a true statement would be the 992 is better in every way performance wise (looks are subjective).

If you have been around a while the N/A cars just like the aircooled cars and represent the end of a generation. In the porsche world this equates to dollars. This and general depreciation year curves explain why the .1 car is losing less value. In this way the .1 value wise is also better. They are both great cars and an out of warranty .2 T or S to tune is probably the best price right now if you like turbo or car stereos.

I’m with you. My oldest is a high school senior. I may be kidding myself, but I justified the 911 purchase in part as a legacy play. I’ll bet your kid would love to own that car more than anything someday. I love the way Porsche combined and wrapped the 991 dash and console analog legacy with digital tech - it’s a work of art. 911 UX perfected. Everything feels just right. eg I even appreciate details like the bezels on the gauges and the fan toggles!

Also, the 992 base MT is not available, further increasing used MT demand/value. My C2S spec new is $140K+.
+1- For those of us with well maintained, low mileage 991s, upgrading to a 992 is a stupid expensive proposition. Upgrading from base 991.2 to base 992 doesn't bring much to the table. Yes, it is a better car, but it is easily a $40k upgrade. The bang for the buck is the 992S, that is an amazing car. Agreed, a good spec is north of $140k+.

Congrats on the new college freshman. Just finished with my son with the same degree. He's been out for almost a year and half, doing some cool testing on fighter aircraft and helicopters. Tough program, but worth it.

Bingo. I read about debt levels being low and when you don't spend money on vacations, weekend getaways, restaurants, etc you got money to burn. Now add in a dash of an overheated stock market and housing market, and many people FEEL rich even if it's fleeting (the markets will drop). Fat home equity, fat 401K.

Our business is home stereo, and we're up 42% year over year for the last 9 months.

Sending out a $2k check to those that don't need it instead of more money to those that do is so f*cked up. But forgive me for now getting off-topic.

I don't understand the concern about the 991 being a seller's market. It's supply and demand! High demand chasing too few cars. If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it. If you want it badly enough, you'll find a way to buy it. Seems pretty basic.

inflation is driving the price increase. the wealth effect is non-linear so luxury items are more impacted by the inflation.

if you want a 991.1 with a manual you'd better get it now.

My exact sentiments, too many people still employed getting stimulus checks. Give it to those that have become unemployed since last March and boost it to $10k per head.

make it a cool mil to everyone; it won't make a difference. inflation is a regressive tax.

Any idea as to when this mtk drop will occur?

I even had a tough time finding the perfect spec low mile 991.2 C2S MT.

Not many, hard to find, and I passed up many PDK and 992 value buys, but glad I held out.

FWIW, I bought a 2015 991.1 GTS manual back in 2017 for two reasons: 1) last year NA car, 2) I like manual cars. It took me over a year to find the car. During the course of the year search, I think I only found 3 or 4 cars that fit the bill: 991.1, GTS, Manual. I'm sure the 991.2 is better, but I definitely like the 2015 just fine. I can't comment with regards to whether or not it's similar to a GT car, except that it's not in any way similar to a 911R, which I have as well.

Took me about 5 months to find a 2018 white/red Carrera S cab with a spec sheet of almost $147k. I used a 400 mile radius from my house (central Florida) and at one point was even looking nation wide. I think I only found 3 of them in the 5 months. I was lucky to find the one I have now 3hrs away

Going price at that time was $105k to $110k,

It's winter time now and even now very hard to find them, people aren't selling them like a few years ago.

If you see something you like jump on it because they selling fast
