991 pricing is out of control right now

I bought my 2016 C2S in June of this year. I wasn't really looking for a 911 as I had placed a deposit for a C8 in July of 2019 but had no assurance of when I'd get it. I Was browsing Cargurus and saw the car that I bought and I placed a deposit the next day. I probably overpaid but it was how I would have spec'd it out, save the color. I think what I've learned is if you see the car you like, don't hesitate as it won't last long. Finding your the perfect car is tough, finding that car for a below market price is going to make your purchase really challenging. Car had 19k miles and original sticker was $130k and I paid $79k I have no regrets. Hopefully 2021 brings some sense or normalcy as Id like to get involved in local PCA chapter, cars and coffee and maybe some DE days.

Oh wow I have a 2019 TTS cab in chalk fully fully loaded turbo aero kit colored seat belts extended leather etc...., almost every option minus leather covered fuse box 😀....msrp $229+
I am moving from NYC to La Jolla and thinking about selling as I figure out housing etc. Seems like now a sellers market. About a year ago I was getting “hey buddy I will give you $150k since 992 are out” and I just walked

I would stick to the 991.....not quite sold on the Stormtrooper look of the 992.

Lived there for many years....not what it used to be sadly. You’re either overrun with tourists, homeless, or illegals. Going to the beach to catch the surf is an exercise in futility unless you can walk to the beach, which I could. But now, it’s just not worth it.

Haha thank you I have lived in NYC my entire adult life and now at 45 really looking forward to La Jolla, umm it’s expensive in NYC too and I think we invented the homeless😀
Having a cabrio I can use 12 months of the year will be a new world for me not even mentioning it can be in my driveway vs $700 a month garage where they park it under the exhaust vent and it’s all dusty when I pick it up for Sunday drives.

Enjoy your time there, if you think it’s beautiful that’s great, 30 years ago it was even better.

I'm glad I bought my .1 C2 last March/April when I did, as I saw where prices were trending. As others have mentioned, everything is in a bubble right now and the corrections are never fun. We'll experience the same at some point, just like in 2000/01 and 2008, so just get ready.
But, I bought mine to daily it, and by Gawd I love it. I had my first DE event this weekend with it and holy cow... I'll have it's own thread coming but what a different animal than my 996 C4S. That front-wheel pull of the AWD system helps out way more than you realize, when all the power is being sent to the rears only. My instructor said he feels the alignment is off as we were having way too much oversteer for how little power I was feeding it, so I'm having that checked out soon.
However, this engine is just perfection. At the local track (MSR Houston) I'm typically only in 2nd or 3rd, bumping up to 4th for two of the three straights (most of the time) but it just loves sitting there between 5-7k, and will give it all day, no questions asked.
I swore I wasn't going to do any mods to this car, but, now I really want a SOUL exhaust or maybe even just PSE installed, plus a MFS-Sport wheel.
What a machine!!!
