Heat Shield Recall
Has anyone received a notification (and had remedied) a recall related to heat shields? Somone in the FB group from the UK posted the below. My car has been in the shop for a week getting other things done and I asked about this, receiving the response that there were no outstanding recalls for my car. Today I received a notification from the dealer today that there is an open recall on my vehicle related to hear shields, Curious what other had heard, and opinions in general. Thanks

There's a section on the Porsche web site that allows you to plug in your VIN for recalls.
I did so with mine and showed no recalls, '19 991.2. That is a curious recall, rags in the engine bay. Maybe it indicated an area that should have been shielded but wasn't. Better still, don't drop rags in the engine.

I put my VIN in on the Porsche site and it showed no recalls. But I just received this via e-mail a few minutes ago.

Thanks. I just called my SA and he confirmed there is a recall for my vehicle (after it just spent 10 days there to fix a window switch and other interior plastic). I'd be interested in seeing photos of the new heatshield, and hearing the story behind why this is necessary. Hopefully someone can chime in with those.

Found this thread about this subject in a german Porsche Forum. Just post the link to the picture not the picture since I'm not the owner of the photo:

Bought my Carrera used but registered it with Porsche on their website but did not receive any info on the recall. Am curious as well, if I am effected. From the picture, seems like a pretty big deal.
P.S: Maybe the picture is misleading. In the german thread it says that the whole recall takes only one hour in labor. I'm confused.

Please keep in mind there are "Service Bulletins" Then there are "Recalls"
I know we had a handful of "Service Bulletins" on the 991.1 I don't think we had any "Recalls"
Even in the letter posted above states it's a "Non-Coded action".
Probably stepping up before it becomes a recall of sorts.

Another member posted a link of an email that was received from Porsche Canada. It seems to be coming our way.

I recently had a fire incident with my previous Targa but from what I understand there have been no findings of foreign objects though. Remember coming across one or two posts like the below when researching would could have gone wrong though. Guessing this is what Porsche are trying to resolve?
