Hi, thanks for your message! I only had to change the rear lights, nothing was required of me regarding the side markers (strangely enough). I actually had a discussion about the seatbelts as the US ones don't have the "E" marking. From what I understand, the Swedish authorities accept the car as is since it has a sticker in the door panel stating it complies with all US federal requirements. Not sure how or why, but that was very important to the engineer reviewing my car... There seems to be no unity among the countries in the European Union, that's for sure! You might also want to reach out to the user "duxsi" who is in your shoes but moving to France. I have a feeling France and Italy may approach this in a more similar way than Italy and Sweden... Also, my recommendation would be to try and speak directly with the company/agency in charge of inspecting your vehicle in Italy. Porsche seem to have very limit knowledge of this process. Good luck!

Hi, I saw you recently moved back to Sweden. I'm taking my 2013 991 C2S with me to Italy as well, and if possible wanted to ask you a couple of questions regarding the conversion. Firstly, as far as I'm aware on the rear lights need changing and side markers need to be switched off, but did you have to do anything regarding the seatbelts - I can't seem to find anywhere on them if there in conformity to EU regulations. Lastly, how did you fit a EU style rear license plate, as the space on my rear bumper is only small enough for a square US style license plate. I was thinking of asking for a square license plate but in Italy, they are huge and sightly!
    Thanks!
