There is a small air filter as part of the Tank Valve service campaign. They do that under warranty. It's not related to the normal cabin filters.

When they do the service campaign for the heat shield, the engine air filters are easily accessible, since they have the rear bumper off and the air box is right there, and several of us (myself included) paid the extra $ to have those 2 filters replaced on our dime.

I was told by my dealership the rear bumper does not come off and they access from below. I have not done the heat shield recall.

My dealer did not need to remove the rear bumper when they did the heat shield. I'm not sure how they accessed it.

Might have been magic, but I don't know how f..... pure it was. The service rep said that the tail lights had to be removed but not the bumper. Also, I have a ducktail spoiler that comes off easily (2 screws), allowing access that might have been room enough. Or he might have been misinformed.
