Default 997.2 for sale for over 2 months

I found a 2009 997.2 C4S with 62K miles and the specs that I want, at a price of $59K. I would love to jump on it but I have a reservation on 3 things and I would like to hear your opinions on...
1. The car has had 6 owners in it's life (the least of my concerns). I have heard that multiple owners could be a sign that there are issues with the car and they are just passed from owner to owner.
2. The car has been sitting for sale for 2 months at a consignment shop - the car owner is providing good history of maintenance records and the owner of the consignment store has been nice in our communications. My concern is why would such a nice car be for sale for 2 months? I would have expected this car to be gone in a few days or weeks.
3. The consignment shop did a PPI on the car, but I found out that the PPI was done at the indy shop next door to them and I believe the owner of the indy shop is a friend of the owner of the consignment shop. The PPI report shows a few items that need to be addressed (usb charge port not working, front tires need replacement, windshield wiper water pump not working and a couple of other small things).

Cars can sit just bcuz pricing off. Especially right now when market is softening. Without knowing options, color specs etc it’s hard to tell if it’s a good deal or not. I usually get more concerned if a car recently passed several hands. If it’s been spaced out or early in life I’m less concerned.

The specs are 62k miles, 2009 C4S, PDK, S-PASM, full leather inside, manual seats, sports chrono+, duck tail, full PPF on front, sharkwerks muffler delete, steering wheel w/paddles. I think that's about it.

Owner 1 had the car for 4 years, owner 2 for 2 years, owner 3 for 1 year, owner 4 had the car for 4 years, owner 5 for 1.5 years and owner 6 had the car for 2.5 years.

The PDK drops the value against manual cars, and RWD cars carry a higher price than 4WD, but not as big a difference as between manual vs. PDK. Too bad, the full leather is a great option and not entirely common on a 4S.

that sounds reasonable to be. I wouldn’t be worried about it. I would still paint gauge it myself and bring my scanner to check codes.

2 months is not unusual, especially for a car that has been modified. If you like it, I would insist on a full PPI at an independent shop if they accept your offer.

I have not seen the car in person - only photos and videos. The PPI from the independent shop next door shows that two panels have been re-painted (Carfax does show two small accidents in the past one in the front bumper and one in the rear bumper) - the rest of the car aligns with the expected values.

Ok well that kind of explains why it's been sitting for 2 months haha

1) many of my friends keep a car for 2 years and then move on to try something else. Car is 15 years old. With that math, 7-8 owners is what I would expect. Number of owners doesn't concern me, although I know it concerns some. I've owned 1 owner cars that were horrible and ones that were great. I've owned 7 owner cars that were horrible and great. No real correlation there. I do understand why people make an argument for it, for instance, if I see the car is at the dealer every 2 months across the past 2-3 owners for electrical issues and each owner keeps it for a year, I'm going to start getting concerned. But that is independent of owners.
2) cars are sitting. Market is softening. PDK is going to be slightly less in-demand (it's a great trans, but that is a fact). 2 months isn't a concern either.
3) I'd want my own PPI. There could be a conflict of interest there. Just remember that PPI's are not a catch-all. I've had friends get PPI's on cars and then still end up with relatively large issues on them. Even from an independent, non-biased source.

2009 C2S 202K miles

All I can add is that I got an amazing deal on my car back in 2012 when I purchased the thing in a recession and with a car that had a bad carfax... said it "hit a wild animal". I think the bad carfax was the real reason I got a great deal. So... though my eyes... a softening market, a bad carfax, and, frankly, someone asking too much money is the issue.

BTW, these are getting old. Emotions think (oxymoron here) that all Porsches are somewhat equal regardless of their age.

Peace

PDK cars are a dime a dozen. If it was a manual it would have been long gone.
When you find the car you want get PPI performed by good Indy shop that has no relation to owner's shop. I always suggest a Bore Scope Inspection through spark plug holes as well.
