No airlift needed, I do it all the time when I travel to the Hamptons.

Port Jefferson Ferry shoots you right across the sound and Fairfield Porsche in less than 5 miles from the Bridgeport CT side.
25 miles from Huntington to Port Jeff Ferry and 5 miles from Bridgeport to Fairfield Porsche.

There Ya go.

Haha yeah that's "35 miles" alright. That's what, two and a half hours each way? Funny guy.

Pay for a billboard on the LIE advertising their bumper repair special.

Thanks for the positive words guys. Some of the advice received will likely prove very useful.

I made sure to let the people who asked about the damage at Caffeine & Carburetors this weekend know how it happened, and what (little) is being done about it.

Have them do it and be sure it looks like new when they are done! And be sure they give you a loaner!

I would call my insurance company, use a Porsche Certified body shop, and never deal with that dealership ever again.

my dealer also scratched my 2018 GTS, though the damage is much smaller. They have offered to repair it at a reputable bodyshop, and will let me re-apply my clear bra at my shop of choice. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1152...an-you-do.html

but i have wasted so much time on dealing with this matter when it could've all been just avoided if they took a little more care when dealing with these cars. is it reasonable to ask them for additional compensation beyond what they are already doing?

It can get a lot worse. There's a guy in Canada who had his 430 damaged big time by the local Ferrari dealer, and the dealer basically told him to **** off. There's a very long thread on Ferrari chat.

I've often wondered what professional (not technical) qualifications you need to work at (or own) a dealership.
I cannot imagine what a job experience any of these positions require.

Basic business principles and norms simply do not seem to exist.
Customer retention vs Cost of acquisition? Process Optimization?

For the most part I find them to have a "one and done" mentality - from the top down.
Rudeness, denials and a refusal to take any responsibility seems to be par for the course.

Based on all the car brands that I've owned, Porsche dealers rate close to the bottom.
Given that Porsche prides itself on their precision engineering, it would behoove them to apply these practices to their customer facing outlets.
Everything seems to be a fight with these guys, and the exception is certainly not the rule...

To the OP - Live, learn and move on..

I contacted porsche, they basically said they have no direct control over dealerships, and potential resolutions. They can only act as liaisons to facilitate the communication between the dealership and i.

how useless

Surprised to hear this about Porsche Huntington - I've had good experiences there. Now Jack Daniels.. they nicked my door, pretended they didn't (it was in their own video footage), and the repair they wound up doing was so half-assed that I didn't even bother going back. They also managed to cause some more issues during the same visit (installed wrong software, broke a cup holder, and installed the wrong side shade), but those issues were ultimately resolved.

Have you had this escalated to the service manager or GM?

The Service Manager, Sean, is the one with the terrible customer service. He called me up on Friday after seeing my Google review, that I waited a few days to post, assuming they were going to be professionals about this. He threw the Service Adviser under the bus, and played stupid that he wasn't aware of the situation, even though I had multiple exchanges with my SA who was acting as the middle man between us at first. I am not going to hold it against my Service Adviser, he isn't the one calling the shots.

He is the one insisting on doing a $350 repair at a body shop far from my house when reputable local shops want between $1100-$1500.

I have received some good advise from this thread and will definitely be taking further action. I'm not letting this one go.

Bizarre - I've heard nothing but good things about both Sean and Porsche Huntington.

Going to the GM would be a waste of time, IMO. Where do you think the SA and Service Manager are getting their instructions from?
