That’s is very true, there are much difference of weight from PCCB rotors vs 380mm steel rotors, however, measured by my mechanic at dealer Porsche, the exact difference between PCCB 420mm rotors and the 330mm steel rotors is 1.37kg (3.01lbs) per corner, all car equals 5:48kg(12.05lbs) total of SPRUNG weight, which is equivalent (1:4) to 21.92kg(48.22lbs) of UNSPRUNG weight. Some sources claim unsprung weight can be quantified by multiplying it with some arguable number to come up with the equivalent of sprung weight. Enkei says (allegedly) every pound of unsprung weight is equal to 20lbs of sprung weight, which sounds a little exaggerated to me, a more conservative sources put it closer to (1:4) , even still, that’d be the equivalent of putting nearly 48.22 lbs of dead weight in your trunk , not counting the rotational mass that is roughly three times harder to accelerate than sprung weight.

This matter is already a Rennlist‘s topic, take a look: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/911766-weight-diff-steel-vs-pccb-2.html

So am I right in saying that my T with LWBS, steel brakes, 7MT and sunroof delete is around 3,000lbs?

i think unsprung weight is certainly dramatized in modern cars. theoretically, once the unsprung weight has momentum on the case of brakes, it's not really relevant, and certainly not at the torque levels cars like a turbo porsche have. the other is horizontal rotation, i.e. turning the wheels, but again, the power assistance is so strong in modern cars, it's equally irrelevant.

all these arguments were valid when we were talking about cars with no power brakes, no power steering, etc. there is no day to day scenario you will notice these weight differences on a modern car. and if you're on a track competitively, than a T is the wrong car anyways...

Rarely do we have back to back comparison of the same car with different brakes, but if you do compare in a controlled way like that it's really easy to feel a difference in the front of the car when trail braking for example, I think.

yeah for sure, but you're saying controlled environment. i said day to day scenario. in a higher threshold environment you can probably tell. below 9.5/10ths you can't.

I doubt it would be that low as the factory weight without fluids, radio delete, etc is 3142. Yours should be at least 3150 depending on how much fuel you have with you when you weigh. For comparison, mine was 3175 with 1/4 tank gas, slicktop, 7mt, RAS, 4 way seats, cat bypass pipes and a lightweight battery (~40 lbs lighter).

we all know Carrrera T is special because is lighter than similar models!! Weight savings always will be important in performance considering weight / hp ratio. As a T owners we all have a very special jewels , because all T are light weight! In Motorsports’s world this weight matter is VERY important! Porsche RS philosophy for example, says every grams counts!!...The Porsche crest decal on the hood , the door handles, minimal insulation, carbon hoods and roofs etc!
so...is fun to play with this toys! It is a purist philosophy in old school Porsches.
For those folks who are weight’s freaks like me, here are a very cool link!!

that is a very good question, since I changed the exhaust to a straight pipes and headers, also modified Intercolers, titanium wheel bolts, and now building custom titanium exhaust tips, My guess is something between 3030 to 3050lbs (dry tank)
maybe I am wrong, but this weekend could be a good time to weigh it. I am thinking in stick to this car for ever, for sure!, so planning in the future swapping wheels for Forgeline GS1R, (only when Santa Klaus remembers me). Those Wheels are 20x 9” front(18lbs) and 20x12” Rear (19lbs) rear vs OEM 20x8.5” front (24lbs) and 20x11.5” rear (27lbs) , other cool upgrade pending could be the Akrapovic titanium center muffler . will see!

And, it does. Those wheels are stunning (at least, they are exactly what I was looking for). Do you know if it is one of Forgeline’s stock paint colors? Or is it matching the T’s titanium color?

They use a color named “GUNMETAL” and match 99.99% the Titanium’s Porsche

I meet this guy driving around my neighborhood, he is a very cool enthusiast. He has the “Tampa Bay Bucs” License plate, adding a Stuttgart round decal on top.

Should be close to that!!
take a look , on the forum somebody already posted, and if you deduct “half tank” of gasoline, 8 gallons= 67.2lbs to 3074lbs
the result is 3006.8 lbs (with empty tank)
