I understand this is a picture thread, so I decided to share a YouTube’s video of my car , I think is cool to watch !, Dropping weight it’s a very cool matter, but when adding horsepower feels marvelous!! Here I share with you folks some performance upgrade I experienced using a custom set of upgraded Hybrid ballbearing GTS turbos , straight pipes exhaust, AMS Intercolers, air filter and 18 hours of detailed Protune with my friend Marco Manzie at Billet Design ! Amazing results! 540hp & 517ft-lb (pump gas 93oct) weight to power 5.6lbs/hp. And the most important thing...Boosting only a conservative 17.5psi maintaining everything under safety Porsche’s torque parameters
and cool temperatures!... The Yellow Bird is flying !! Cool !

Some sources claim unsprung weight can be quantified by multiplying it with some arguable number to come up with the equivalent of sprung weight. Enkei says (allegedly) every pound of unsprung weight is equal to 20lbs of sprung weight, which sounds a little exaggerated to me, a more conservative sources put it closer to (1:4) , even still, that’d be the equivalent of putting nearly 48.22 lbs of dead weight in your trunk , not counting the rotational mass that is roughly three times harder to accelerate than sprung weight.

This matter is already a Rennlist‘s topic, take a look: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/911766-weight-diff-steel-vs-pccb-2.html

40 lb or so of unsprung weight diff for gt3 steelie vs pccb my understanding as well. It's great to have actual on scale weight, how’s the caliper’s weight contributes?

maybe I am wrong, but this weekend could be a good time to weigh it. I am thinking in stick to this car for ever, for sure!, so planning in the future swapping wheels for Forgeline GS1R, (only when Santa Klaus remembers me). Those Wheels are 20x 9” front(18lbs) and 20x12” Rear (19lbs) rear vs OEM 20x8.5” front (24lbs) and 20x11.5” rear (27lbs) , other cool upgrade pending could be the Akrapovic titanium center muffler . will see!

Are you sure about the keeping it forever thing? You have the spec that I'm looking for, hit me up if you change your mind
btw I didn't check every post of this/other t thread, is there a second t with mt buckets full leather int pccb blk led no roof no lift ras here?

@rubioalejo, i had a similar idea and was warned not to "deface" the plate by the DMV. I ended up with a compromise that has passed the cop test so far.

I'm also in south florida btw. Cheers

Some time ago, I was at a gas station talking to a couple of police officers on the same subject, they tell me that if "FLORIDA" and the full letters and numbers are 100% visible, you will be fine. You can cover all that "pirate flag", and if for some reason you are stopped in the future, you can voice this argument, but if they still don't agree, just take it off! and you should be fine!

basically CarreraT came with the small version of Turbos in 9A2 3.0 engines!
The exhaust turbine is 45mm and compressor impeller is 49mm.
I found one set of used GTS turbos that originally came OEM 48mm/55mm , in all Porsche’s turbos the brand is Borg Wagner and there are not ball bearing! (In 9A2 3,0 engines). The improvements consist in modified the central cartridge maintaining the same OEM oil & water fittings, but using ball bearing system instead of the regular oil lubricated bushings, and with a larger diameter 50mm/61mm. The key here is focused to have a balanced design on turbines with a larger diameter and better design avoiding any turbo lag regardless the huge size, because work with less rotational friction!
Actually, with the OEM GTS turbos I can reach same power numbers that I have right now, but I have some friends and contacts in Brazil with the company “PowerTurbo”, so they did this beautiful work for me! They modified also the internal flow in both housings to match the extra flow ! These Hybrid turbos are capable to produce 700hp.
the cool thing here is that for these turbos to generate 17.5 pounds, the compressed air temperature is a lot lower when you compare it with the OEM small turbos that spin at 100% capacity to produce same pounds (Stage1) . A lot more reliability for the engine.

Great idea, thanks for the info! I have a university of Florida plate which is white and it really stands out against against my dark blue car. Don’t want a bucs or heat plate but the sticker over it looks great.

I live Weston!!!...exactly you are right, is not the best time! Sometimes I stopped ounce a month by Broward Porsche and grab a nice cup of coffee, they have a huge empty “guess area” in 2nd floor so I rest there for a few moments with another enthusiast friend! Always 10 feet away with Zorro,s masks! :-)

About calipers on the GT3 are pretty same weight steel rotors or ceramic!
