GiroDisc upgrade to 350mm front and rear and Girodisc stud kit, and Spiegler 6 line brake line kit. Plan to use pagid RS29 for the couple of days I go on track. Note, this is the very first purpose built upgrade size for the base Carrera. Really fits nice with the pads.

I would be interested in several parts if you part out. PM me if you go that route.

Resale and/or trade will always be higher stock. The target market will be larger, and you'll get more back from the aftermarket parts selling them individually vs on the car. The labor is all a labor of love and is a total loss on something like this.

After an average weekend due to killing a set of MPSC2 N1 - I decided to look for something with a good sidewall
Looks like Hoosier have released the R7 in S/GTS/GT3 sizing .

Sell off the performance parts here on Rennlist where you will find the most hardcore guys looking for AM mods.
I'm interested in the catless cats and cat O2 sensors. Could drive to Ormond for the changeout.

Theres a lot of rubber in the Carrera 991’s suspension parts that connect to the tub....plus not enough camber for Hoosier R7. Also the shock and springs in a Carrera based car is not going to suit R7’ well either....you’ll get more grip but the car will lean way over too much and move around too much with all the rubber in the suspension parts.I would not say the sidewall historically is tougher on the R7 than the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires either.

I have eliminated a lot of that rubber with all the Elephant racing adjustable bars and monoballs and spherical bearings. (Still not done all of them - saved the ones that BBI replace the whole bar. ) I have more camber now. I am getting good life and surprisingly even wear on the cup 2's. But I still want to try TrofeoR next. I believe they have a much stiffer side wall. The front springs have to go. 33 N/mm is way to soft for a GTS.

Its the tires that are the biggest issue in my book - the MPSC2 have too much "road" in them for sprint events (soft sidewalls) - for dry class specific events I'm going back to Trofeo R and for open class dry events I'm going to give the Hoosiers a bash. Keep in mind the last event I did, at the pointy end 17 places were split by 1.1s.

I only do DE....I’m not racing or time trialing my car. However we do have fun and get after it during de sessions. So yeah if your racing/time trialing your car on the track you’ve probably gutted the car, added cage and harness plus suspension bits. What group and class are you in? What are the tire rules...?

Just wanted to bump this thread to say a big Thank You to John @ BGB for all his hard work and effort. Big Bird will be remembered fondly as a pioneer, that paved the way for many great 991.2 GTS of the future.

The information has been invaluable. I wish he were on this side of the equator, my car would live in his shop. These cars are not cheap to mod, so its a great help when someone of his experience, can point you in the right direction, and save you heaps.

A lot of the sharing he did was unpaid work and a labour of love. It is great to have access to such a valuable resource. P.S. Yes, my car is faster than his, but only due to all his help.

End of season here, been a good year - GTS has performed well - beyond expectations really. I have to say the torque and RAS make the real difference (after seat time). Maintenance items have been as expected e.g. fluids, brake rotors, pads, tires and a cpl of wheels - very vanilla which is a good thing. Next season will move to open class with this car - should be interesting.
