Drove the car on MSR Houston on Saturday. Wet night and drying track with the grassy area outside of track in swamp conditions. Not sure why there was at least one car every session that wanted to test how far into the mud they could get stuck.

I have the following modifications;
DSC Module with custom stiff and extra stiff programs
Center radiator
AMS Inter cooler
IPD Plenum
AMS air filter
SOUL Performance Cats
VF Eng / HEX Tune
Girodisc 350mm rotors (note these are not S rotors but purpose built for base model)
pagid RS 29 pads
rigid lines, SRF fluid, and caliper stud kit.
Alignment
6 point harness

Car did great. I did not push 110% as I needed to build speed safely and track was drying from previous days of rain. The brakes are phenomenal and to be honest, dont need 380mm. I was stopping faster or as fast as anything else. This is compared to the 996GT3 I had for 6 years. The brakes are smooth and ABS never engaged. My brake habit is from the 6, which is notorious for ice/winter mode kicking in early if you don't load front tires, and therefore my first stab at the brakes are not as aggressive as it could be. The DSC module keeps the car planted at all time and chassis was never upset and even when going over curbing there was no drama. The car has great power. It is so fast out of corner, much faster than my old 6. I left everybody in the dust. No competition. the ECU does limit torque, ie if I short shifted to try and use torque vs hp out of corner the car would not accelerate as hard vs when i did not shot shift. This is ok as I like the reliability vs peak hp & torque. Oil temperature never got over 227F and water stayed at 194. This was in 65-75deg ambient temp.
The 4S tires held up well. Good grip for first 6-7 laps then starting to give up a little. Once the tires started to slide, I pitted. No reason to stay out just to wear out tires and make chunk.
In all, a great platform for gentlemen track day driver and weekend driver.
Next and final event for my spring season at COTA in 4 weeks. With my 6 on R888 tires I got close to 2:30, expect to be under 2:30 in this car.
that’s awesome and love your build. Hope to hear a good report after from you.

Are there any Cobb-tuned S or GTS failures reported yet? - other than the several vacuum tubing leak nuisance issues I've read about?
I have not yet heard, read about, or seen any serious failures.

I haven't heard of any. COBB had their development Carrera S at COTA a month ago for Super Lap Battle. They do track their cars often during development to make sure their calibrations are safe.

Update from my FOR SALE thread.

Spring is upon us and i know someone else out there would just assume take this car and start where i left off with it; it's been under lock and key all winter and has an upgraded Cobb Stage II flash. I drove it to a car show in Orlando and then had it professionally detailed and put it right back in the shop. It hasn't seen the track since last year and i have no plans to track this car anymore given that it's up for sale. I'm trying to keep the miles off and keep it in good condition for the next owner.

Finally got round to reading the whole thread.. I have a 2017 991.2 GTS, currently stock apart from some forged wheels with cup2s on. Am probably going to mildly mod the car as I do a few track days in it (had it at the 'ring last year, was amazing stock, managed sub 8min BTG which is some way off the record but I was pleased). Great thread and quite an inspiration, thanks BGB Motorsports and other contributors. I'll update with mods and results as I go.

Does a bear crap in the woods?

I have the BremboGTS BBK 380mm front and rear on. I have fresh TrofeoR's on. I ordered Tractive Coilovers a few weeks ago. They should be here in a couple of weeks.

I went custom spring rates. 75n/mm Front and 150n/mm rear. In your speak I believe that is 425 Fr and 850 rear.

33/108 GTS
45/120 GT3
75/150 (My new rates) 30n/mm front and rear over a GT3 should be spot on. Street comfort and RS handling.
100/160 GT3-RS

After the Tractive are fitted, I want to do the Tarret anti-roll bars to fine tune.

@BGB, has anyone confirmed that the Tarret will fit a GTS yet? It just says 991.

Those who track their PDKs (991s) - are any of you changing your PDK tranny fluid earlier than the stunningly high 120,000 mile interval in the Porsche maintenance schedule?

If so, how soon are you changing it?

Absolutely. I just did a PDK relearn as precaution, and am booked in for a PDK fluid change Monday. I have just over 18,000 Km on the car. I will do the PDK every 12 -18 months. Engine oil every 6th track day or 6 months, which ever comes soonest.

Just completed first Tarmac rally of the season and am booked in for a two day sprint series next week.

Also contemplating adding a .2 RS to the stable but balancing the potential of the new GT4 or a gut-able .2 GT3 with that decision. Lots of options - all good. 😀

Tried out out new pads - on another Porsche, Project Mu HC16-03 excellent pad. GTS is also ready to rumble😀

4 Point 0. You are my hero Sir

my Michelin 4S got chewed up after about 3-4 sessions. I need 2nd set of rims with more track focused tires. Maybe stiffer springs. Too hot in Houston to track, wait for fall.
