Happy it was the OZ and not the stick rim, needless to say, now two of my OZs are bent.
I ran OZ for winter wheels for years across three DDs and a couple-hundred k-miles.
I came to the conclusion that all OZs will bend. Or more-specifically that winter wheels are consumables. (I don’t think OZ wheels are particularly bendy.)
Not from curbing but from potholes.
So, when it came time for the next DD and a winter wheels set I bought two extra wheels and stuck’em on a shelf. Needed both within 6-ish yesrs.
No worries, the body takes time to adapt after rapid weight loss, it did for me anyway...
It hasn't been all that rapid; two years, with a six month break when a gang of knife wielding women cut me open and took out 7 inches of my colon... apparently I would have died otherwise, but this is hard to confirm, and I didn't have any choice but to sign the waiver...
When I came out of the hospital (in record time) I found I had a hard time moving, probably due to the 14" scare and 43 stitches from my waist to my rib cage. I tried to lift a 100 pounds 6 months after (February 2021), and thought I was going to split in two, so parked that idea for awhile and just focused on getting my strength back. I started lifting (less) in August 2021 (a year later) and focused on getting my cardio up. I was doing a little running into the fall and winter, but primarily on an elliptical due to it's low impact. Started running 10k/day January 3, 5 days a week, weekends off.
My strength is not completely back; I have a hard time dead lifting much more than 250lbs, whereas before, I could manage close to 400 (when I was fat - apparently it was interesting to observe as I would usually go bright red...), so I am not sure if this is due to getting older, being cut open, or a combination of both. I have concluded that although I have lost all this weight, I am not as strong as I was before, so my cardio training is focusing on getting my heart stronger. My resting heart rate floats between 48 and 52 BPM, my BMI is still higher than I would like at 18.2%.
So, as they say, what doesn't kill me should make me stronger. In theory, at least.

I run OZs on three platforms, and I have never had a problem with any of them except for these HLTs - they have been consistently strong, and true, so although the 'pot hole' aka Mini Grand Canyon caught me by surprise, I was surprised by the level of bending.

I can't imagine going through what you went through.
I lost about 30lbs last year and leaned up (for an old guy) but also lost strength. In my youth I was benching 400lbs and now barely 225lbs with plenty of joint pain...either way here you go for some inspiration.
You're killing it; I look like a 6'3" stick with the remains of a pot belly...
I could never bench much more than about 350 because I have unusually gangly arms, so I even then, I needed a spotter; I could work 225 - 260/70 without too much trouble; apparently when limbs get longer, it is hard to overcome the leverage that works against you.
That being said, I will continue to fight the good fight - goals are 210, 14%(ish) BMI, then I will start bulking up again. We shall see...

I didn't have the medical issues you did but my diet was crap, adjusted it accordingly and began a steady training regiment (not heavy but strict) and feel 100% better.
Zero sugar/beer and minimal carbs works for me (took a while to adjust mind you).
I had no problem cutting the beer; although I love it, it was pretty straightforward. All carbs are consumed before midday, veggies, fruit in the evening. Broke down over the holidays as even though everyone knows I had stopped drinking, they still gave a lot of bourbon as gifts.
Agreed, I feel 100% better - I cheat meal once a week (this week is sushi), and it does not seem to have a detrimental impact on my mass, and of course, the car loves it by showing me quicker quarters and improved mileage...
Hmm, i ride my bike 150-200 miles a week just so I can have beer!! I did cut out meat, dairy, eggs, cheese, and all oils about 5 years ago. I refuse to give up my IPA's though!!
