Had a beautiful early morning run at 0430... a time where traffic is non existent and you can wind it out (here in Van at least) without fear of repercussions.
Got tired of just sitting around in my home office and decided I needed some drive therapy today. Took off on one of my favorite 20+ miles loops of freeway and some great semi-canyon running. As return traffic was light decided to take the shorter freeway route home over the Altamont. Was able to enjoy some short blasts into serious triple digit stupid range.
Was on the downhill side, still doing significant double digits, when my laser warning went off. Got Painted twice as I popped the brakes and dropped back into the 70's. I had run across a 4 car CHP laser scan and chase team. Fortunately my investment into a new laser jamming system paid off as they never got a clear lock on me. They did nail a couple poor slobs that were about a quarter mile behind me.
This is the first time I've run into a serious laser threat since the system was installed. Glad to know it does work. Technology is a wonderful thing!
Are there any portable laser/radar jammers on the market or just built ins ? Would be nice to have a forward shooting jammer for a quick blast now and then.
None that I am aware of - I do know, however, 3M will sell you the same paint used on stealth fighters/bombers that absorbs radar/laser beams for around $6000USD/pint.
Have the Stinger fiber optic laser system with 4 pairs of heads across the nose. As the latest Vortex review states it is the real deal and it is 100% stealth. The Stinger radar system is crap so went with the Escort Max CI.
