991.2 GT3 will come with "Touring Package" option
#736
Now I'm really going to be pissed if I don't get an allocation.

Anyone else find that mule ugly as hell??

Ok, so this just in.
Confirmation from my dealer this morning that the GT3 Touring is a thing. It is an option on the GT3, so you need a GT3 allocation to option it.
Details I have so far:
Comes with Manual transmission only.
No Cost option.
No mention of rear seats so that pretty much rules them out I would suggest.

Details I have so far:
- Deletion of rear wing
- Runs with same rear spoiler as a Carrera S
- Revised boot lid Grill
- Leather seats instead of Alcantara
- Textured centre of the seats
- Painted alloy wheels in Aluminium Satin Gloss

No Cost option.

1. A GT3 without a wing. Why? Is the wing look that ugly?
2. A GT3 with backseats. Why? For little children? If yes, is this really the car that is missing from your family and requires a back seat?
3. 911R, but called something other than a 911R. Why? Same reasons as #1 and #2.
I guess to be more succinct, should there be 50 911s that fit every single circumstance?
I'm trying to understand the void in Porsches lineup that the Touring Package fills. Or the Speedster. Or the Sport Classic. I feel like this is a Cheesecake Factory menu.

I freaking love it and I'd spec it in black just like that car. God I hope it's for real. Just pinged my SA and got somewhat encouraging news allocation wise. Crossing my fingers.

I'm a little confused at the high level of interest. Are people saying they really want:
1. A GT3 without a wing. Why? Is the wing look that ugly?
2. A GT3 with backseats. Why? For little children? If yes, is this really the car that is missing from your family and requires a back seat?

NA - Check
Manual - Check
Performance - Check
Looks great - Check
Can occasionally haul the family - Check for me as kids are young
Currently my fun car (GT4) is only ever enjoyed by me, I want to have a car thats fun for me, but can also occasionally be enjoyed by the family as well.
I would actually flip the question the other way - who wants a sh*tty daily driver? Why not have an awesome daily driver which can also provide all the driving thrills you could ever want?

I am desparate for this car. I was planning on specing it like a 997 Clubsport (chalk with dark gray stripes) but have decided to go with Guards Red as a matching pair to my 964 RS. For me, it's Porsche's spiritual ancestor to this car. Plus I think they will look fantatstic together. January cannot come fast enough. Will keep my white PDK GT3.2 to have the best of both worlds.

How many different Camaro or Mustang variants are there? Same thing. It feels like an inside joke at this point.
Porsche's lineup: 911, 718, Cayanne, Panamera, Macan. 918 I suppose counts. They do not have 60 different models.

No, but it would be nice if Porsche offered a high HP, sport suspended, 6 speed manual 911 with no big wing on the back. Basically, something like the 911R. Maybe they could drop the 911 GTS Targa 4S or one of the rolling purse 911 Cab variants to make room for a proper road sports car.

I find the 991.2 turbo Carreras [and even my 997.2 turbo] a little too refined and sensible, although very very quick.
I'll be happy with the 991.2 GT3 for sure though, with the wing and without back seats.

We just need confirmation they don't neuter the engine
