Creativity definitely worthwhile. I try to apply the Use Case Rule: Use Case Rule - Car Acquisition these day after learning the hard way.
Good article, always do enjoy your articles.
But I do take a bit of an issue with the "Use Case Rule" as you've defined it (as an aside, I also abide by the Use Case Rule).
I think we should broaden our definition of "use" -- while driving a car is the obvious definition of use, it shouldn't be the only definition.
I think "use" should also including things like the pure intrinsic enjoyment of ownership, which is different than simply car collection (which you distinguish in your article). Ownership and "use" isn't just about driving the car, but rather the enjoyment of being part of the collective of the marque -- i.e., some people own a Porsche simply to be part of their local PCA. And while owning a Porsche isn't necessarily a condition precedent to joining PCA, it certainly does help, and provides that connective tissue to relate to the rest of the organization.
So while an owner might not drive the Porsche very often, it does provide the gateway and platform to bond with the marque and other owners -- which I think should constitute "use".

Cheers and happy holidays.
Happy Holidays.
Good add, and add. A Gateway acquisition certainly is a valid Use Case
I wanted to try 600LT and I was really impressed with the car after a testrive. 570s is a good car as well but it is very civilized like 911 TT whereas 600LT gives that feeling of a racing car. Never had a chance to try 675LT but for me aesthetics is important and I very much like the design of 600LT, whereas 675LT is not my cup of tea.
I began to seriously think about a one year old 600LT. But the more I think of it the more I realize, that it is going to be seriously more difficult to live with in comparison to my current 911 gt3:
1) I tend to drive my GT3 a lot and really hard. And my GT3 has proven to be bullet proof for 3 years and 35 000 kilometers. Lots of track days, lots of long travels - it just doesn’t break whatever I do.
I don't think 600LT can cope with this in the same comfortable manner.
2) I take my GT3 everywhere with no hesitation if there is some ground clearance issues or if the car is going to look too extravagant.
I have serious doubts the 600LT will do this job.
3) Financial aspect. Every piece for my GT3 was pretty cheap. I doesn’t bother me if some plastic part was damaged and should be changed. Extended Porsche warranty costs very small money in comparison to Mclaren.
You can’t expect it from McLaren.
4) And Porsche service is everywhere you go.
McLaren sucks in this regard.
I would very much like to have 600LT but with my GT3 I have a piece of mind and drive it as much as I want and where I want. It is unlikely with McLaren.
I think the only solution is to buy 600LT in addition to GT3 and use it as an occasion car. But then I believe I will use it very seldom.
BORING - and when the P brainwashing ends and you come out the other end, you left with modern price per pound just OK track cars and VW cars that not enough to impress anyone on the street.
We've been there - show some creativity pls so not to make the P car owners look like a cult. Try another manufacturer for fun - and if u can swing it, do a McLaren,
I have tried other brands and I am big fan of Ferrari. Have owned multiple f cars. But I will heed your point as I am big fan of 720s. Will test drive one in January.
That being said, maybe I’m drinking the cool aid but the last 2 years in my 991RS were pretty ****ing awesome. Sometimes a car just speaks to you.
Porsche and Mclaren day .......Speedster after 6 months just got PPF yup drove 700 it didn’t break. (Didn’t make time). The Mclaren was dirty, and it got washed up(:

Is Mclaren's center lock design better than Porsches? Never hear anything about Mclaren's being a pain. Or is it basically the same.
Oh boy... there is literally a SAGA written on bayareanady's insta stories about the mclaren center locks. Seems like it's 10x worse than Porsche. He's on here also can't remember his profile.
