I'm a big AMG fan and never had any major problems with my E63 S wagon. I never tune my cars though as I already have a "tuner" car to mess with. I don't see GT-R drivers to be posers either.

That's a bit like saying there is no point buying a GT3 because the RS is coming.

Well it's not untrue. But the GT-R is supposed to be a GT3 RS the black series is supposed to be a GT3 RS too (in this analogy). The GT3 has a bigger gap to the RS regarding usability (or it's supposed to), the Black-Series will just be a better sorted GT-R. And now that you raised that, I personally don't see the point in getting a gt3 PDK when there is an RS coming (this if you know that you can get one).

No point in buying any car right now because flying, driverless, automated, cold-fusion powered robot cars are coming... at some point.

Get what you want when you want it. Otherwise you'll just wind up sitting on your thumb waiting for the next best thing to come along. As Samsung says, "the next big thing is already here."

Behind RS. Imagine if RS N2 tires.

Thanks for posting that YouTube

I figured out Magny Course pretty well with the help of a coach when I picked up my RS. Same coach as posted these laptimes.
Magny Course is flat and fast.

Looks like I will have my work cut out for me at Sebring with fast drivers getting their .2 GT3.
More motor, less drag and assuming better suspension might very well give the edge to the GT3.2 at Sebring.
History repeats itself; .2 GT3 just as fast or faster than .1RS...

Except, many of those .2’s will be MT. I would be curious to see where a GT3.2 MT or even GT3T would end up on the lap time list. How many times do you shift per lap....each shift you lose about a car length to PDK? Then imagine if the GT4 were PDK where it would be. Hmm

Five of those cars are just about tied for 2nd place. I wouldn't make much of the very small differences which could be attributed to driver, tires not at optimal pressure/temp, etc.

Manual vs. PDK shouldn't make much difference if the cars are driven well.

Right, good times!!
They are really all identical in performance.
My best was 1:519, so I would have finished behind better driven Porsche GT-R and McLaren.

I think a manual doesn’t stand a chance, of course depends on drivers again but a manual passing a PDK needs to be one hell of a driver.
Bit bring it on!!!

The GT-R does well but its still a one lap wonder because there isn’t enough brake cooling to hang with GT3’s after a few laps on a tough on brakes track unlike the Ring.
Maybe the reserve that for the hardcore Black Series.

Are you 100% sure on the brake fade? I know that multiple reviews mentioned the irons giving up after a couple of laps, but the CCMs weren’t tarred with the same brush iirc. At least I hope not as mine has them! lol

I think he’s talking more about brake cooling from airflow to the brakes rather than just heat dissipation of the rotor. I don’t know. I can’t imagine that the GTR on more technical tracks would have brake cooling issues from lack of airflow. If anything I would suspect too much air and the brakes don’t get hot enough. I’ve never really looked at brake ducting design of the car as my GTR will never see the track. But at least in the canyons they work great haha.

I’ll find out for myself March 5th which will be my first track day with the GT-R.

When are you taking yours out?
