200kg / 441 lbs is the number what a MB GTR is heavier than a 991 GT3 RS.
i´m already getting a bit frustrated if i have to drive with a 100kg budy on the codriver seat in the RS.
why they (M and AMG) are so comfy to not create a stripped out car. the buyers would be there.
the BlackSeries of the GTR will loose what? another 16kg - as the GTR is less than the GTS?
they have to enter the low 1.400kg range - and not be happy if they are not 1.700kg.
a pity - that there is only one group of people making the rules in the game between MB and BMW head companies against AMG and M.
i know a couple of really good guys within M in Garching - if they would be allowed to earn below 40k on one such "GT car" they could create beautiful things. for sure same at AMG in Affalterbach.
...
But my feeling is that AMG will go this way - and will become more and more attractive. Against M and also against P.

I would be pretty surprised by anything more than a token weight loss on the black series cars. Certain models lost significant weight because of significant features like the SL losing its power folding top. But they were all still heavy cars.
Not ******* on the Merc here, love the car. But the AMG GT series is a much heavier car, different spirit, different buyer, and Porsche knows that.

There are a few guys who manage to keep their GT3s under $150k but they're few and far between. And then we haven't gotten into questions of ADM which again make competition like the GTR and 570 a bargain proposition.
Only if you can both get a GT3 at sticker and have a strong sense of self control on the options list, is the GT3 significantly less expensive than competition.

Without going too much further into this, realistically specced cars, both GT3 and GTR, are in the 160k-180k range. 570S starts $188, 190k, well equipped, realistically still under $200k, i.e., within arm's reach. Yeah if you start with the Turbo S, the 570 almost becomes a bargain proposition once anything is added.

Also in the land of MSRP if you can get an allocation.

I guess I'm looking at the Canadian perspective. GT R is $193K (base of $183K) CAD w/AMG paint option. My spec'd GT3 is at $191K CAD (base of $163K). 570S starts at what $191K USD which at 1.25 exchange is $239K CAD. Turbo S starts at $217K CAD.
Also in the land of MSRP if you can get an allocation.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I have yet to see a nicely optioned 570(not even ALL the carbon pieces) priced under $215, let alone a any new one under $200. I think the average new GT3 price with normal spec(optioned on the average) is $170ish +-. In reality, the 570 new is 40 to 50k more than a GT3, where the AMG GTR optioned is 180ish.
Also, nothing is preventing you from walking in a dealer and placing an order at MSRP, possibly even with discount.
I'll leave it at that, this is a Merc GTR thread after all, but feel free to reply further with any final word.

In Canadian market, you could get a 540 for about that.
A number of new cars under $200k available from quick google search.
OK, but I haven't seen one. Please show me examples, not one, but a number of them.
Also, nothing is preventing you from walking in a dealer and placing an order at MSRP, possibly even with discount.
I know, I was going to buy one, but just couldn't after the test drive(didn't find it involving to drive), and my dealer had 8 new ones in stock, none under 215k.
