Owned an AMG....depreciation is really so laughable and the repairs out of warranty can make your heart skip a beat regardless of your wealth position.....NEVER own one without a warranty........they are beasts in a straight line, but a handful to handle moving fast......will never buy another one......they also have watered down the brand now....more than Porsche has......

I feel you on that one, LOL the last time my E63 went in to get its brakes changed I almost had a heart attack when the bill came back. Thankfully I got a decent discount from the service department, but still. I always have some little thing wrong with the car, but the sound and performance, when it's that is, prevents me from selling it.

I have an '11 C63. The car has been rock solid and is a hoot to drive. No plans to sell it, ever.

Picked up the GT-R yesterday...what an animal!! Really love it!! Run in time so haven't gone past 5k rpm yet but the car feels extremely well balanced, turn in is very precise and sharp. The noise is unbelievable, especially with exhaust valves open, it sounds like a bloody spitfire who's coming to get you. I'll promise some better feedback as soon as I'll put some more miles on it...

I had a 507 but couldn't get over how bad the transmission is in the c63. Unresponsive to downshifts and that lurch when it changes down to first when rolling to a stop. Terrible. Ruined the car for me. Pity as the engine is mighty.

hands down worst part about car your right. The way I get over it is if there's lots of stop and go I keep it in manual and shift accordingly. Makes it ok but not great

So as compensation, I went out and bought a 997.2 GT3 RS. Get it Friday. I now have to decided if I take delivery of the GTR or pass on it. Looking forward to your impressions to convince me I should take it.

You might as well wait for your 991.2 GT3.

Congrats. Mine has been delayed. New delivery date is September 18th at earliest. Was supposed be in my hands NOW! I am really pissed because I wanted the car by a certain date for a certain special event. I even made the order conditional on the car arriving by a very specific date which they promised...and then...boom..."sorry sir, your car will not be ready for you important event that you have planned for over a year, instead it will arrive the day after you get back".

The AMG GTR was one of three very important cogs in a special event I have been planning for the last year.
A GT3.2 and M2 were the two other cogs and both BMW and Porsche came thru. I now have both in my garage. MB let me down. So because I needed a 3rd cog, I went out and bought a 997.2 GT3 RS for emotional compensation.
