Last year, most of the "debut" cars appeared on the Friday (Chiron, 570S, DB11) but a few did not appear until the Saturday session. Reading the 2017 programme, I suspect that the "debut" cars will again not appear until Friday. So if you want to see the GT2, I would not entirely depend on it appearing on the Thursday.

If you are familiar with the FoS format, they have a "Supercar/Debuts/First Glance" session twice a day where the cars run up the hill. In past years, these sessions have only started on the Friday but this year they have elected to run the Supercars session on Thursday. I notice that they do not specifically say "debuts /first glance" cars for the Thursday session.

Agree - it's hard to see what else they would add to make it look more extreme!
After the manual GT3 I've stopped putting any credence on rumours, informed or otherwise. However...there has been chat of a "Weissach Pack" which helps drive the price up to the numbers mentioned. (I was told "The price with Weissach pack will be c£260k" UK)
So, I wonder if there will be a "base" version and also a Weissach one which has all the expensive add-ons like magnesium wheels, extra aero (eg canards shown on link), carbon interior,,maybe carbon bonnet etc. That would be same concept as 918 Weissach, and would in effect be the GT2 (base) and GT2RS (W pack) being launched at the same time.

Seems like a couple of you might be attending FoS this year. If so, just a couple of tips. Arrive very early or a bit later.
Last year was my 4th visit. We normally try and get there very early each day and have breakfast at the track to avoid the traffic....but last year we were running a bit late on the Saturday...and OMG....minimum 2.5hrs in traffic just trying to get into the place. In the end, we turned around, went to a Pub, had a pint and something to eat, then went back at 12pm.
Also, ticket wise, make sure you get a roving grandstand ticket. Well worth the expense.

Yes, you can.
The programme for Fri/Sat/and Sun is essentially the same. It is a bit quieter than the weekend, but still very busy. Indeed, its possibly the best day to go. Just get there early to make the most of it as there is a lot to see both on and off the track.
In addition to the hill climb sessions, there is a forest rally session, a skid pad, an off road track and the biggest static motor show in the UK with most of the auto brands present including Porsche and Mclaren who have their own dedicated pavilions.
Also, there is free and open access to the pits so you can roam around looking at all the cars to your hearts content.

Day and half is perfect UNLESS you are going to spend an inordinate amount of time at the concessions (which are pretty amazing)!
