Perhaps they are checking the wheel arches and under carriage for rubbing under aero speed and compression on the new GT2 Peter to try to avoid the issue with the GT3RS?

IMO, bunch of factory drivers got drunk and thought it would be hilarious to tape some rubber on the fenders and see what the Internet would dream up. At least that is what I would be doing

+1 - looks exactly like that. It's the second liner on top of the real wheel liner so that the wheels leave marks if touching it. The triangles under the car likely serve the same purpose just for rubbing against the road surface.

http://www.bridgetogantry.com/more-p...91-gt2-photos/

"To be honest, the mule I saw on track this afternoon is a LONG way from being a finished production car. Just check out those arches, or that bumper"

"What has changed since my last report on the GT2 is that I’ve watched the car moving now. I’ve heard the dirty growl from its turbocharged motor, and I’ve seen the black lines it’s leaving in 4th gear. And… today, I didn’t notice any PDK burping on the shifts.

That means either:

a) the driver wasn’t using sports-mode on the PDK ‘box

or

b) HALLELUJAH! REJOICE! IT’S A MANUAL!"

maybe its not really a GT2 at all, but the new 991.2 GT3 RS.
Sooner or later the GT3 WILL be turbocharged.

Amortizing the new manual across as many GT products as possible is logical and if anything it makes more sense to offer manual option in GT2 RS than GT3 RS due to broad powerband produced by turbo.

I wonder if their testing for a significantly wider front tire/track given the hacked together look of that front fascia and how far out that lip extension sits from the actual fender.

Also, what's the point of taping over the fender vents given that we've already seen them on the 3 RS. Maybe a new design here as well??

Re: latest video, fairly muted sound. A little Akrapovic magic might be first mod if the final product doesn't have more bark.
