991 GT2RS

Is anyone curious, or can some ask the question to AP, if the 991.2 TTS had the same tires as the GT2 RS, how much of a difference in lap time would there be? And would that difference favor the GT2 RS or the TTS?
In other words, if there is a difference in lap times, which car would be faster?

Though, I'd wager that the TTS won't top it despite the advantage of AWD. It lacks the aero and the lightness of the GT2 RS.

On a long course like the 'Ring, I think the TTS may well come out ahead. On a shorter tighter track, the advantages of the GT2 RS, like you said, most likely would keep it ahead.

Regarding the "vacuum cleaner" sound - don't be misled, remember the first official GT3 video? The sound sucked! I've heard a short snippet of the sound on IG @killsbugsfast and the GT2 RS sounds pretty good actually

Although, I also suspect the 700hp vs 540hp at the higher speed parts of the 'Ring would help the GT2 RS come out ahead.

Keep in mind that the TTS will be set up too soft to properly use the extra grip- too much lean, etc.

If I were able to order and get one, I'd have to go to Exclusive to remove the center stripe on the front hood and roof. I just need to see that CF goodness purely unadultered. Is it just me or is that stripe totally Phallic...that or it's like a Proboscis Monkey...or maybe it's the Jimmy Durante Edition 911, you decide.

I have a 488GTB, two months old, which was almost exactly the same price as my notional 2RS spec. There is no doubt the Ferrari has lots of attributes that make it feel like a class above, but they are mainly cosmetic. (It is ridiculously fast, and comfortably faster than any 500bhp 911, RS or not).
Despite all that, assuming I get an allocation, it's getting traded in for the 2RS, based on the 2's spec, but also on past experience of GT cars. (Inc R). When did Porsche last turn out a car that didn't over-deliver in real life and do so over time? Other modern cars seem to 'wear off' over time of ownership for me.
So, I can definitely answer the question over which I'd rather have for the money!
Can fully understand why people might take another view. For a multi-purpose 'special' road car, I can 100% see the attraction of other brands for the money, but for me it will mainly be used to drive to tracks a few times a year, over long distances, and then thrash round. Much more suitable than the others for that, and I'd include the 488 Speciale, if other recent Ferrari specials are anything to go by.
(It will also be another level of cost, as will any Mac 720LT).
Performante would probably be my current next choice behind 2RS, (and the engine wins easily), but I'm guessing I can always revisit that in future, if the 2RS is for some reason not quite what I'm expecting.

The attention to detail on the CF weave is stunning.

It looks great.
I guess they keep the nicest weaves on the rear wings for the GT2RS and clear it. The lesser ones get painted for GT3RS :-).
Better than most other cars in terms fit and finish.
The two tone stuff looks great on the GT2RS RS with all its appendages. I wouldn't want it on a GT3.
