Every VIP is guaranteed a car. Does that not indicate a limited build.

Stuck on flight but it has decent Internet and I am spamming the reload button for thread updates, but not enough BW for the videos. Not all bad, entertainment system has (classic) Goodwood highlights and documentary on The Ring.

looks like Emirates first class to me::))

Final Gearing including tire size difference from the video:

2nd. Gear close to 991 TT
3rd. Gear ~22% taller than 991 TT
4th. Gear ~15% taller than 991 TT

Give and take speedo and visual error

First and foremost, impressive car and I'd love to own one.

BUT, Porsche has absolutely mastered the game of hype and marketing, especially on these GT cars. Dodge sells a record breaking, N/A, big aero car for less than half of the 2RS, and they remain easy to find/buy. Maybe that's the rub, people want what they can't have. I'd be surprised if the GT2RS is faster around a track than the ACR, and I'd also be surprised if it has even half the aero the ACR has. Obviously it has dodge beat on quality and panache, but I still find it very interesting. Their margins on these must be incredible.

https://www.motor1.com/news/150284/p...burgring-time/

When asked about whether the GT2 RS will be able to beat the Lamborghini Huracan Performance’s lap time of 6:52, his response was the company will use the exact same specification of engine and tires as the production car, adding Porsche won’t be “going for lap times that the customer cannot achieve.” Make of that what you will...

Exactly. Keeping the demand side of the demand/supply curve is what Porsche and Ferrari do well. Mclaren? Not so much.

Doing it by limiting volume is annoying, but common practice for luxury goods.

This is a neat car, but why just whet everyone's appetite with 500 cars? And, it's Ferrari money. A 488 sits next to my '16 GT3RS in the garage. I guess it's just preference and I love 911's (I also own a turbo), the fit, finish and eye ball of the Ferrari exceeds the 911's. A 300K 911?

GT2RS i guess will cost at the end 1-10% of the 720s. (maybe it will be even 150k€ cheaper over 2 years)
and it will be faster. and will have 0 issues (think about all the 570, 12C growing pains)
i bet it will be more emotional to drive than the 720s. the RS feeling + the rose joint chassis.
currently best car to set laptimes and daily it.

488 "Speciale"
720 LT
will be the competition soon. maybe same speed. but for sure 50k more expansive.

don't hate if you can't get one!
if you hate and you could get one --> PM me!!

Same here... except the 720s is not a great comparison. That car is more of a supercar GT.. if there is such a thing. Rides much smoother and not hardcore... this car.. is hardcore.

In truth, if I had a non-roof scooped LT, I would sell the LT in a heartbeat for this car for the reasons you mentioned regarding cost of ownership.

If it was a numbered/limited build, you can be sure they would have said so in the press release. I think they'll decide once they see how many orders come in. Why would they commit to a number if it's not a limited edition?

Now, the issue is that 720s and 720LT is akin to 911TurboS and 911 GT2RS. Very different cars. 911 Turbo S depreciation curve is not great. So I think its not fair to compare a GT2RS to a 720S. They're very different cars, except in price range.

Non roof scooped LTs aren't bad either (I own one). I wouldn't think of trading it for a GT2 RS. Add, yes.

Nope they're great cars... but for me personally, I'm wondering where the depreciatino curve will set in for the non scooped ones?
