What if I said that there are a lot of extras included in the 2RS to help justify the price?

free fake aluminium fuel cap
free home link garage door opener
free apple carplay
free black leds

I don't think Porsche will be shedding any tears if they don't sell 3000 of these cars.

This board is very mixed on this car...I think we all had these high hopes for something crazy since the 997 GT2 RS. I'm a bit disappointed nonetheless. I wish they made a standard 991 GT2. Oh well. Either get a LT or do what I thought about doing 2 years ago. Get a GT3, put some GT2 stickers on it and put turbos on it lol

You can also get an owners exclusive watch!

You can show it off to your fellow cleaning buddies.

Spend ~300k on a 720S, drive it off the lot, you're out 40k right off the bat.

Spend ~300k on a GT2 RS, drive it off the lot, even if you use it like it's intended to, it's not out of the question you may still be able to sell it for ~300k some 3 years after the fact.

What about 3 years after buying that 720S? When the 720 LT has already been on the market for about 2 years, and the P15 is now the current "it" McLaren car, the 720S will probably be trading in the low 200k.

Exactly.

I suspect if I daily drive a 991.2 GT2 RS I'd still come out alright in the end.

Those who don't want this car, I thank you. I may end up with two allocations courtesy of you. I promise to daily drive one if that happens.

You'll find the same thing happened on the .1 3 RS - most of the negative posts tend to come from people who didn't intend to order the car.

And for those who don't believe me, I daily drove my 997.1 GT2 for 11k miles over a period of 10 months.

Officially going to pass on this. Plenty of turbo cars to choose from, and plenty of 300k cars to choose from as well.

I think real check writing demand will be surprisingly low on this car. Unless porsche throws a # limit or a plaque on it - I just don't see people lining up to throw 335k with tax on a 911. I also think these will be discounted, and depreciate.

It's an impressive piece of engineering for sure, but I think they are crazy trying to make so much margin per car.

Pretty sure people said the same thing about the 997.2 GT2 RS.

I actually could've gotten 3+ at MSRP. And occasionally came across one trading for below when they first came out.

Now look at them.

Turbo 911s just get a lot of hate, that's all.

Exactly the way I would describe it. I have no doubt it will be amazingly quick, but it doesn't have the emotional draw of a NA engine.

Jokes aside I can see why people will buy these, and no doubt they will love it. It's just not for me.

Well I am because I was hoping this would be my 1st Porsche. I always wanted one in the past but never had a chance. Now I do and don't want it. I don't care if it isn't a PDK it doesn't have to be a manual. It's that price and the competition. You just don't need a 911 anymore for the performance. And from what I've seen I like the 992 from spy shots. Oh The 992 GT2/RS is going to be a looooong wait.

I think the car looks fantastic, but there is no way in hell i can justify spending 300 large on a car. So unfortunately, I will not be ordering one.

I am curious to know if a regular dude with big money will be able to walk in to dealership and order one of these things at MSRP.
