The sound of the car is weird....don't like it at all. That'll leave one more allocation for you guys who do like it. haha

I will get the Weissach -- I did that with my 918 from the beginning - and my R has no A/C or radio - but I'm an outlier (like to think more of a purist but thats just my own ego there) - It is sad that folks will order the Weissach just because of the value downstream - its $31k more.... or more than 10% of the cost - for the 918 it was only 9 percent :-)

That was me you're referring to. Lets see that list at Sonnen go from 18 to ~5 tops. Quickly.
Martin - cmon don't be hating. Car is beautiful.
If i can make the 996tt / gt2 sound like this - i can make the 991gt2rs sound glorious. Just give me 200 hours on comsol / solid works.
Love it. Beautiful car and it has to be a complete monster to drive. 700hp, RWD, PDK-S, aero, cooling, CF bits. A rocketship on 4 wheels. E-ticket ride for sure.
So, as discussed somewhat above, I believe this is Porsche's test strategy to stop the supply/demand imbalance and flipping insanity to determine to the true market for a high-priced GT P-car with no caps. Price at $300K base, say production is not limited per se, and see what happens in this current market.
I could be 100% off base, but Sonnen Porsche above saying they have 18 deposits for the GT2 RS, and will be lucky to get 5, I really wonder how that will play out if/when all 18 people are told, "Yep, come in and spec out your $300k base Porsche 911 super car and everyone that wants one will be able to get one, so guess what? The car will DEPRECIATE."
How many of those 18 people will drop off like flies hitting a bug zapper if they know the car will potentially be susceptible to standard 911 depreciation curves but on a larger total value hit due to the high price. How many people will really want to buy a $300k optioned GT2 RS if it's going to be worth $200k in a few years due to normal depreciation curves and not a limited supply?
Not saying that is going to happen, but Porsche seems to be implying it won't be limited production. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Maybe it'll be automatically limited by guys who decide to NOT plunk down $300k+ on a 911.
Take a look at regular 911 models and see how that depreciation curve eats the value out of a new 911 after a few years.
I'd love a 991.2 GT2 RS, but I'd also love a 488, 720S, etc. There are a ton of very hot rides in the $300k+ category.
