991 GT2RS

In the U.K. this car with Weissach costs about £30k more than what the GT3 RSs sells for on the flippers market. I wish it was numbered for the price but it doesn't seem too crazy to me to be honest.

History repeats once again on the forum - anticipation -> anticipation increases -> anticipation reaches all time high -> car is launched -> people posting their feedback seem unimpressed -> videos of the car start to come out from drive tribe, evo etc and then everyone starts to get on board -> reviews come out and people start falling in love -> cars start being delivered and everyone loses their mind because they can't get one and then start to bash Porsche about not making enough etc. etc. etc.
Just think about this car for a second, and re-read the specs
- 700 HP (numbers that 911 owners have wanted and yearned for, it's now here)
- 750 NM from 2,400 RPM
- 0-100 km/h in 2.8 Seconds!!!!! (mental for RWD, and Porsche are always conservative)
- 0-300 km/h in 21 seconds (for reference the 997.2 GT2 RS did this same dash in 29 seconds, and lets face it the 997.2 GT2 RS was definately no slouch). Imagine what this acceleration feels like?
- Only 40KGS heavier than the 991.1 GT3 RS despite way more HP & torque
- Fully rose jointed suspension
- Weissach Pack
The list of things goes on and on and on and on.
And best yet, it's in a 911 - you can take your hypercars and super dooper versions of koenigsegg and pagani, i'll have a riced up 911 everyday of the week.
This car will melt the tarmac and "only" cost one tenth of some hypercars. Not to mention you can get it serviced anywhere in the world without needing a specialist to fly over to fix your car.
What I want to know, are people annoyed about the accomplishment, or just the price, or just because they probably won't get one?
All that aside, this car will be remembered as KING KONG (Porsche development team gave it this nickname).
Credit has to be given to Porsche, they have delivered on a car that people have wanted, and on top of all that, they have made this car very customisable with colour, wheel and options etc.

It looks like the watch will be 9500€.
I agree it's hard to see right now what new innovation is in this car to justify $100k over a 3RS but I think that will be seen. I also believe Porsche is taking some of the cream off of the resellers. Lots of people bashed the 3RS price even with its carbon and magnesium parts. Didn't people say the 918 was overpriced and they wouldn't sell them?
I'm still undecided myself. If I get a bunch of dealer bs it will likely swing the decision.

The issue with the 720S comparison that often gets overlooked is the depreciation issue. Spend ~300k on a 720S, drive it off the lot, you're out 40k right off the bat. Spend ~300k on a GT2 RS, drive it off the lot, even if you use it like it's intended to, it's not out of the question you may still be able to sell it for ~300k some 3 years after the fact. What about 3 years after buying that 720S? When the 720 LT has already been on the market for about 2 years, and the P15 is now the current "it" McLaren car, the 720S will probably be trading in the low 200k.

This board is very mixed on this car...I think we all had these high hopes for something crazy since the 997 GT2 RS. I'm a bit disappointed nonetheless. I wish they made a standard 991 GT2. Oh well. Either get a LT or do what I thought about doing 2 years ago. Get a GT3, put some GT2 stickers on it and put turbos on it lol
At the end of the day theres plenty to choose from and I don't see cars as an investment. From my perspective, they are to be driven and enjoyed. I appreciate there are other views and people with different circumstances.
In Australia the market will wear the price tag, 500k for a .1 GT3RS and 360k for a .2 GT3.

i think 300k is right.
For the following reasons.
Porsche noticed gt3rs mark-ups from dealers and individuals flipping around that price range.
In order to stop this non-sense and weed out all the flippers, priced the car at 300k. Very hard to markup / flip above those prices. Over 300k is a big investment of a flipper. Cleans up flippers and dealers w/ markups. Therefore those who want the car, can really spec out what they (actually get an allocation). You can thank the flippers and dealers for the price hike. Tag along w/ the fact that they announce production will not be limited. It's a big F you notice to flippers and dealers that will want to mark-up by saying "limited production" bs. story.

i could not imagine why i would buy a 720s instead of the GT2RS.
GT2RS i guess will cost at the end 1-10% of the 720s. (maybe it will be even 150k€ cheaper over 2 years)
and it will be faster. and will have 0 issues (think about all the 570, 12C growing pains)
i bet it will be more emotional to drive than the 720s. the RS feeling + the rose joint chassis.
currently best car to set laptimes and daily it.
488 "Speciale"
720 LT
will be the competition soon. maybe same speed. but for sure 50k more expansive.
don't hate if you can't get one!
if you hate and you could get one --> PM me!!

Porsche really is the smartest car company....A 305 sticker car here in California will be $340K after taxes and fees. Isn't that what we were supposed to be paying for the mid engine FeFi supercar? This is a whole lot less development money for Porsche than that car.

570s is not that close to an lt. the lt is raw. And with a roof scoop it's crazy. That's why so few roof scooped lt's come up for sale.
