Im sure Ive posted these before. Here are a few fun videos in the GT3 on the track from an enthusiast Manuel who we have discussed Ring driving in the GT3 a few times. hes not a racing driver but a very talented Italian amatuer. His first time out in a rented RSR car (factory tyres and set up) was a 7.35 Full Lap. Last year he received a lime green GT3 himself and put it on Trofeo and achieved a 7.32 under the restrictions with a little traffic which corrected I believe is around 7.28. I have that lap somewhere. Its as close as Ive seen anyone come to the factory 7.25 time. This year he did BtoG of 7.11 corrected in the same car. As reference I believe his fastest lap in his 458 Sp is 7.29 Full lap. Often he has a passenger for his fast laps. It may not be as scary as driving a GT4 manual but it looks plenty scary enough to me...

Yes macca, very god speed in that gt3, agreed! Still when reaching that limit marginals For error is less. All people driving nur are are going to crash, very much so if going For the limit. I done it, and I Will do It again. Thats the ring, nothing strange really.

This green did close the track last year due to a massive hit far up in kesselchen. We was on same event. I very much like this guys approach as he just use his gt3 as it sholud, he is very much showing what a great car the 991 gt3 is! This guy dont let the talk about 991 gt3 be hard to drive stopp him, he just go fast propper.

Imagine going in this speed in a manual gearbox, thats a workout. This is also showing the great part With pdk box, its what you need in a propper go fast car. Same in gts, I Rather have both hands on steering wheel all time in the speeds that thing Will pull, on a bumpy track like nur.

As in GT4 Clubsport the M4GTS gets more motor oil to handle higher griplevels.

I agree Nur93. I've spoken to Manuel a number of times. In his videos using the RSR 991 GT3 for the first time in 2014 he was doing 7.35 with a bit of traffic and a passenger both wearing no helmet. You can see this on his YouTube account with the footage of him passing Sabine. At this pace anything can happen. By the time be put in the 7.28 equivalent lap last year (7.31 but with the 250kmph speed fence) he was wearing a helmet. Otherwise stock car on Trofeo. He drives the GT3 using the manual paddles and as you say this adds an element of safety - but at this pace anything can be a problem like a faulty tyre or mechanical failure. The GTS will be a great drive and we look forward to the videos. Are you also keeping the GT4?

i was - like many in here - also doubting at the beginning the appearance of the GTS. But based on many pics - and the pics above - next to the E92GTS and the alltimefav CSL - i have to underline that the GTS does NOT look like a ricer or anyhow not good.

It´s wide - it´s evil - harmonious and modern.

It looks good! Wide and hungry!

FWIW: Maybe old news but there is a nice review in the current Evo.

Does anyone know why they limit production of these? Same old marketing / halo car story? Seems they could sell quite a few if numbers weren't so restricted.

i guess BMW could sell 5.000 (not just 700)

same story as 991RS/991R ...

maybe not only marketing - and also a bit of cold feet based on special parts like water injection...
