lmao...

Pete, I can assure you it won't be a problem making it worth my while... Already have! I told my travel agent today that I don't do 24hr+ flights to Europe easily as it's so painfully boring on a plane for that long and then showed him why... He laughed and totally understood

We certainly will have a ball!

Only one challenge now... Paris to Dijon with "bonjour" and "merci" as my only French... Little over a week to learn, haha...

I think the TGV is not difficult to sort out once you find it at CDG.
Have you figured out if there is a straight connection by TGV Paris - Dijon?
When in doubt get on the train and just pay when they ask you for your ticket. And get 1st class not that much more..

Oil and Tires:
What do you guys think of the tires and my setup?

I have one rear that's starting to wear through on the outside.
The other rear outside is not far behind.
I'm sure they are fine for one more day at Paul Ricard.

The fronts are good.

Just because the Michelin guys are at Paul Ricard and I do have 2 sets of tires I might as well put on all 4 new ones. Including Paul Ricard I have 10 track days left so that should mean I have enough to last me till the end.

We don't get a lot of driving time at Paul Ricard, (2 days of 4 sessions 30 mins ea) I wont go that fast the first few sessions so the Michelin guys can pick a time to replace all 4. Not looking forward to the graining/melted rubber strings on the tires again, they just got perfect.

I'd try and go to -3R camber as well to try and get a bit more life out of them. Now I have -3F and -2.5R.
I think most Rennlisters reported front wearing more than the rear, but I see opposite, my guess is I would wear 2:1 rear:front, just like in 997RS.

Both Spa and the Red Bull Ring had long corners where the car pushed more often than not so expected more front wear but didn't get much wear.

Sway bars both middle, I'd go softer in the front on known tracks.

OIL

So I changed the oil twice, the second time I got a message, "oil over Max, OK to drive on". After 1 track day it was OK again.
This was after all the oil was drained and filled according to the book.

I had to add 250-300cc 3x in between when it gave me the message "oil low".
The level then shows green, maybe 1 green bar, or 3 green bars and after you drive it a bit, cool down check again, it maybe up or down a couple of green bars.
Considering the 500cc it takes between oil low and overfilled and the total of 8+L in there it seems a PITA.... You guys seeing the same?

Yep there is a TGV that does direct from airport to Dijon... It leaves just before 8pm so I will be out your way just before 10pm... Leaves me with 4-5 hours of snoozing at the airport.

Alternatively, bus/ taxi to downtown Paris, then 7pm TGV and there by 9...

Planning to take the snoozy option I think?? ...

Peter I'd say you'll get two more 30 min sessions out of those rears but as you have fresh rubber seems silly to go any longer on them when you can enjoy the benefits of the extra grip of fresh rubber for the final two sessions once you are dialled in.

I've kept a record of my oil use age. 250-300ml at 2700 kms on the first engine whilst turning in Europe. Included some spirited driving and high speed autoroute work but nothing heavy in the 8000+ rpm range. First 4 track days was using around 300ml per day similar to you. Since then closer to 500ml but the car is now pushed much harder and setting PBs. The more time I spend above 8500 the more oil I use it would seem. Once you are home pushing on familiar tracks you will get a proper feel for it. Mine doesn't smoke on start up any more. The oil behaviour is as you state. Green bar at bottom turns yellow throws me warning so when I get in from session I throw in 300ml and now it shows 1 green bar. I then throw in another 200ml after another session and now it shows me 2 green bar then after the last session of the day shows its at 3 green bar or even 4 bar (technically too high). Next morning start it up and it shows only 2 bar. Go figure. I learn now only fill it when it asks and give it only 300ml max at a time - better it under filled then over fill and blow back oil through crankcase to oil inlet manifold etc a few here have been over filled on track by unsuspecting owners both spewed oil back out of filler neck one actually ignited on exhaust but we put it out before it melted bumper - owner Richard a mate put in 1 litre!! It's a pressurised system too. Other car is at dealership having inlet manifold stripped and cleaned after major overfill ended up causing a mess!! It holds 7.5-9 L so a few hundred ml of lost oil will not cause it harm but apparent,t 500ml too much will!!!

^ I now have about 4500 track miles on the GT3, and have noticed that it's burning less oil than it used to. One factor could be that I switched to manual mode on the track, so maybe I'm not using that last thousand rpm the way I did in auto mode. Like Macca, I try to keep the oil level at one or two bars, and add a little oil at a time, to prevent overfilling - much easier to add oil than take it out!

Also, Peter, keep in mind that some advice and experiences from the GT3 may not apply to the RS. While the cars are very similar, the differences aren't insignificant, and could have implications for alignment, tire pressures and wear, oil consumption, etc.

Requires activating insanity mode. Did you not get the code from the factory?

I haven't cracked open the manual.
Haven't figured out launch control or the Pitlane limiter.
Maybe that's the reason...

But then I guess you meant 2.34 in Spa and not 1.34?!?
